Is it possible ''xen domU PXE boot'' ?
Hi everyone,
I want to know whether domain-U can boot PXE.
I read relative article from here mailing list or many web sites already,
but I don''t understand clearly.
I concluded it is impossible, but Virtual Iron support VM''s(domU) pxe boot.
I am confused.
If it is possible, in my opinion, it needs a boot-loader support PXE ( for
example, pygrub support pxe boot - of course I

PV DomU stopped responding, won't boot, stuck in paused state
Yesterday, I had a PV OpenSolaris DomU stop responding. I looked on my xen machine and it was in a paused state. I ended up destroying it and then doing xm create to bring it back up.
It won''t boot, and I think PyGrub is hanging. Not sure how to resolve this, there aren''t any errors being presented in xen/xm itself. If I try ''xm create config.conf'' it just

XEN domU + btrfs
Anybody tried to use btrfs on rootfs / in domU with pygrub?
I tried and realised that pygrub can''t use btrfs.
Workaround is to make /boot outside rootfs, but pygrub search kernel
in directory /boot. It can be workaround via softlink on /boot, but...
too much workarounds.
Distro: debian squeeze + xen 4.0
I wait for yours experiences.

Hi list,
I''m trying to get RHEL4 working as Xen guest as described by the howto
at https://virt.108.redhat.com/articles/2007/01/15/rhel4-testing.html.
However, when creating the xenU domain, I''m stuck with the following
error message:
# xm create -c rhel4
Using config file "/etc/xen/rhel4".

Bug#852069: DomU guests with pygrub as bootloader do not start after, upgrade from Xen 4.1 (wheezy) to Xen 4.4 (jessie)
Package: xen-utils-4.4
Version: 4.4.1-9+deb8u8
Severity: normal
Under Xen 4.1 in Debian 7 (wheezy), the following works when included in a
DomU configuration in "/etc/xen/cfg/" --
bootloader = '/usr/lib/xen-default/bin/pygrub'
After upgrading to Xen 4.4 as part of an upgrade to Debian 8 (jessie), the
DomU silently fails to start. Examination of the log files shows that the

/dev/vg/VM".
Usually my domu configs look like this:

Xen PV domU reported as Xen-HVM
Hello,
I am running two dom0s, one on CentOS 5 with Xen 4.1.2 (from Gitco) and the
other one on CentOS 6 with Xen 4.2.4 (from Xen4CentOS). I host one LVM
based domU on both from the same template (CentOS 6 PV) with the same Xen
config (see below). However, the domU on Xen 4.1 reports itself as Xen PV
while the domU on Xen4CentOS reports itself as Xen HVM.

dom0 hangs when rebooting debian lenny domU
Dear all,
I have a reproducible issue with centos54 dom0 and debian lenny domU
using pygrub. As far as I enter "shutdown -r now" in the running Debian
Lenny DomU the whole system hangs. Keyboard is dead, network is dead and
no more logging. Ending up in a hardware reset of the box. I was able to
reproduce this 3 times. Restarting with xm reboot debian50 works without
problems. Is there

Where domU''s grub configuration is cached on dom0 ???
Hello all,
I post again a question I asked few weeks ago : when you change the
/boot/grub/grub.conf of a domU, the modification is not taken into account
by pygrub, until you reboot the dom0. Restarting xend has no effect, nor
deleting the temporary kernel and ramdisk located in /var/lib/xen.
This morning I had to reinstall one of my old domUs, the grub.conf changed
and the domU did not

domU unbootable after unknown error
I''ve done something apparently, but can''t for the life of me figure out
what. Perhaps someone can help:
I have an LVM based domU which has been working without problem for
weeks. I made some final changes to it last week, shut it down and ran
the following to create a backup image:
dd if=/dev/VolGroup00/wspd of=mail2.img bs=1M

PVGrub can''t find config file for domU on logical volume
After hours of googling and not really finding a definitive solution to my
problem, I''m a little stuck and would really appreciate some help from
others.
I have a CentOS 5.4 x86-64 server running Xen 3.3 from the gitco repos as
dom0. On this I have created two logical volumes comprising 8GB for the
system disk (xvda) and 1.5GB for swap (xvdb). I ran mkfs.ext3 and mkswap

modelling domU bootloaders
I don''t think that modelling domUloader (or pygrub, for that matter) is
going to be optional for VSM 1. Do the CIM providers have any plans for
this?
Thanks.

Centos Xen dom0 and Debian domU
I have got a Centos 5.3 i386.
I would like to install a Debian Lenny paravirtualized domU. I have a free partition so, I use this script to install Debian.
http://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images/daily/netboot/xen/xm-debian.cfg
And these are the instructions:
http://wiki.debian.org/Xen#DomU.28guest.29
Installation was successfully.
But restart not.
I got:
xm create -c xm-debian.cfg
