"Called name not present" - using smbclient from linu x to access win98
Thanks a lot! That would be great if you can explain further why and how the netbios session requires the netbios name, not ip address, Thanks again! strange VLAN / domu behavior
Hi there! I am currently setting up a Xen box on 3 VLans, each VLan interface is in a bridge and currently, dom0 is reachable from on of these and is performing great. My only problem is with domU : it can ping anything but it won''t work for TCP and UDP protocol UNLESS I do a manual tcpdump on my vlan interface. Bridges on dom0: xen-vl97 8000.001372529fbf no

Progress on Windows support ?
Hi all, A while ago there was a thread here titled "Xen w/ IntelVT->Windows Success Report" http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-06/msg00452.html I am having a similar problem as this user was in point 6 (Installation hangs at "Setup is starting Windows"). I am running Fedora Core 5 with Xen 3.0.2 and the related kernels installed, and using the

Tutorial : Debian, Xen and CLUSTER / GFS Support
Hello there! I made Debian, Xen 2.0 and CLUSTER/GFS work together :). I wrote this little tutorial to help you setup yours. Any feedback is welcome, except comments about W3C validation of my code :p Note that I am talking about compiling CLUSTER with your XEN kernel, I don''t explain how to setup a working cluster. You can find how to setup those in official RedHat docs. You will see,

Beta-announcement - xenConsole for your Xen
Hello all, I''ve been running Xen 2.0x for some few months and have written a simple top(1)-like tool - xenConsole - which continously displays all running domains, along with their CPU-consumption, load averages, percentual CPU-/memory-usage, domain uptimes and so forth. A screenshot probably explains it better than me: http://www.gothix.dk/xenConsole/xcon-0.10b1-ok.PNG It requires

domU device access : kernel problem
Hi all, I have a little question about a problem i''m experiencing with the new xen 2.0.7: I installed in on a debian box, dom0 starts with no problem, also the domains i copied over from my 2.0.6 box start rightaway BUT: i needed a custom kernel (i want to play with PCI device acces in domU) so i grabbed the 2.0.7 source and compiled the 2.6.11-domU kernel (with the standard config)

How to run Windows on Xen 3.0 with VT
We have an Intel VT system, and we have successfully installed Xen 3.0 on it, but we cannot find out how to run Windows as a guest OS. Someone on this mailing list has successfully done it, but did not say how. Thanks, - Hao _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

rsync 2.5.6 fails to create device nodes on IRIX and NFS mount
Hi, rsync (2.5.6 protocol version 26) on IRIX fails to create device inodes to a NFS mounted filesystem. rsync via ssh, client side is on IRIX 6.5.19, server side is on RedHat Linux 7.3 (rsync 2.5.4 protocol version 26) and the NFS mount is from a linux box (NFSv3 and dev, suid as mount options, no_root_squash,rw as export option). [CSL #301925] centosplus kernel xfs patches and CVE-2006-1855
Hi All, we've run into a problem with the xfs component in the centosplus kernel (2.6.9-34.106.unsupportedsmp) where synchronous writes sometimes fail with EAGAIN. It's causing headaches for DB2 installs and for our database research group. There is a fix reported at: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-xfs&m=110808122904352&w=2 ...that's supposed to take care of

How to formulate quadratic function with interaction terms for the PLS fitting model?
?? If I haven't misunderstood, they are completely different! 1) NIR must be a matrix, or poly(NIR,...) will fail. 2) Due to the previously identified bug in poly, degree must be explicitly given as poly(NIR, degree =2,raw = TRUE). Now consider the following example: > df <-matrix(runif(60),ncol=3) > y <- runif(20) > mdl1 <-lm(y~df*I(df^2)) > mdl2

How to formulate quadratic function with interaction terms for the PLS fitting model?
I have two ideas about it. 1- i) Entering variables in quadratic form is done with the command I (variable ^ 2) - plsr (octane ~ NIR + I (nir ^ 2), ncomp = 10, data = gasTrain, validation = "LOO" You could also use a new variable NIR_sq <- (NIR) ^ 2 ii) To insert a square variable, use syntax I (x ^ 2) - it is very important to insert I before the parentheses. iii) If you want to

AFAICS, this is unclear or unstated in ?poly. I still get the same error with: library(pld) data(gasoline) gasTrain <-
