vif0.0/veth0 or eth0
When does vif0.0 get created? Is there some shell magic? I''m trying to figure out how to do a similar peth1/veth1 split for eth1. -- Nicholas Lee http://stateless.geek.nz gpg 8072 4F86 EDCD 4FC1 18EF 5BDD 07B0 9597 6D58 D70C _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

xen 4.1.1 missing veth0 <--> vif0.0 pairs
Hi, I am using Xen 4.1.1 with Linux 3.0.1 kernel. Previously (Xen 3.4.4 and linux kernel 2.6.18) Xen by default created veth0 <--> vif0.0 pair in dom0. With Xen 4.1.1 these pairs are missing in dom0. Using command ''ip link add type veth'' I can create veth0 and veth1 but vif0.0 is still missing in dom0. (When new domU created I can see vif1.x created) Could you please help

Xen networking on different vlans
Hello, I have a xen server that needs to run a domU on a different vlan than xen''s. I have configured my switch (a cisco catalyst) to tag every untagged packet to the default vlan (the one in which is dom0) and to accept tagged packets (for that domU). I have xenbr0 linked with the eth0, the default network. Then I run * vconfig add eth0 101 -> To create a virtual interface with

VM boots BUT keep throwing: "INIT: Id "X" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes"
Hi, This is my setting: I have a Logical Volume /dev/VG/suse with Suse installed. I have added it to the grub and I can boot it and works perfectly fine. Now I am running /dev/VG/root which is running Xen0. I have created a Xen config file to boot a VM with disk: /dev/VG/suse. In other words I want to boot /dev/VG/suse as a virtual machine. Below is what I am getting at boot time :

Lots of IFs in /proc/net/dev
I have a domU configured with two virtual ethernet interfaces - one on a private bridge and one to the outside world. If I cat /proc/net/dev (or loop round the interfaces using SIOCGIFNAME) there are loads of them? Should they all be there ? I''m using the same kernel for dom0 & domU. Centos and xen network bridge issue
Hi All, We have a single Centos 5.11 server running a xen hypervisor that went down hard after an extended power outage this weekend. I'm mostly familiar for KVM as that is the majority of what our guests run under and have tried getting up to speed on xen bridging to no avail. The problem is that after the xen server spun back up, the previously defined xen bridges were lost. I've

Bug#388352: xen-hypervisor-3.0-unstable-1-amd64: veth0 is missing
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0-unstable-1-amd64 Version: 3.0-unstable+hg11292-2 Severity: important My server is a dell 2950 server. Before the dom0 rebooting bug ocurred, xen was well even for hvm domU. By now i have tried xen-hypervisor-3.0-amd64 (3.0.2+hg9697-2) and xen-hypervisor-3.0-unstable-1-amd64 (3.0-unstable+hg11292-2), but both of them are unusable for me. for

Unable to start LXC on Gentoo w/ libvirt 1.0.4 or 1.0.5. 1.0.3 works
Hello. I use libvirtd on my Gentoo development system to manage both QEMU and LXC. When 1.0.3 came out, I updated to it from 1.0.3-r2, but 1.0.4 failed to start my LXC containers. I did not research the issue at the time, so I revert to 1.0.3-r2. Today I updated to 1.0.5 and my LXC containers still fail to start. I have not changed my domain XML at all. I am looking for suggestions on

network-bridge called three times
Hello All, I'm trying to figure out why xen-utils-common 3.2 doesn't suport bridging on multiple interfaces. I've been digging around /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridges. And modified it so that during boot, when executed the script writes into /tmp/netbr file, but I commented out code that actually creates bridges. I discovered that this script is called three times during boot, I

You can have multiple vethX interfaces on recent builds -- see netback/loopback.c. I think the current default is a rather miserly 1 (and should be increased), but can be set on the command line. xen 3.2 network problems
Hi, I try to get networking running with xen 3.2, but it seems I fail miserably. I am on sles10sp1, with xen 3.2.0, and kernel rpm''s installed from SP2. I configured in /etc/sysconfig/network the NETWORK_LIST: NETWORK_LIST="bridge,0,default,00:DE:AD:BE:EF,192.168.8.13/24,dhcp-off" but an ifconfig xenbr0 still shows the mac address of peth0 fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff. Initially, I
