I would like that someone that has accounts stored on windows 2003 server make a test and try to change a password of one of those users from a linux box using smbpasswd -r <w2k3_host> -U username. For me it always complains about invalid username or password. This work if I change a

ProxyARP in a Routed environment
Hi, In a routed network setup , is it possible to use ProxyARP given the condition that the shorewall external interface and the DMZ interface are in a completely different network . That means the gateway of the External interface and the hosts in ProxyARPed DMZ zones are in different network. eth0 ---in 220.227.X.Y/30 -- shorewall external interface eth1 ---in 220.227.A.B/27 -- shorewall

nvfx
Hi Marek Thanks a lot for your rebasing work. Here is my report : - all my games that broke with temporaries patch (they were either completely black or lot of black screen flash every frame) behave badly, but in different ways : * etracer is very slow and often crash in ttm code [1] (I think this is an old bug that just resurrected, no idea why) * foobillard is very slow and still flash a bit *

iptables and BUG: soft lockup detected
Apologies if this is not relevant to this list. I am seeing errors when loading a large iptables file Using iptables-restore containing more than out 1000 rules reports errors shown below in the system log: I am using Centos5 and have tried various processors and memory from Celeron 2.4 to Core2Duo and 500Mb to 2Gb The problem appears to be related to the size of the ruleset being loaded -

corruption of in-memory data detected (xfs)
Hi All, I am having an issue with an XFS filesystem shutting down under high load with very many small files. Basically, I have around 3.5 - 4 million files on this filesystem. New files are being written to the FS all the time, until I get to 9-11 mln small files (35k on average). at some point I get the following in dmesg: [2870477.695512] Filesystem "sda5": XFS internal error

Odd hang on a 5.6 system
Hi All, I've been trying to trace the cause of a hang on a 5.6 i386 system. After running for almost a year, it hung last week, when I plugged in a screen it was blank, machine was unresponsive to the keyboard, over the network ssh and other daemons didn't respond but the thing has two network cards and routing from one to the other was still working. So the kernel was up and I

lustre + nfs + alphas
This is the strangest problem I have seen. I have a lustre filesystem mounted on a linux server and its being exported to various alpha systems. The alphas mount it just fine however under heavy load the NFS server stops responding, as does the lustre mount on the export server. The weird thing is that if i mount the nfs export on another nfs server and run the same benchmark (bonnie) everything

a nasty kernel oops
Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been trying to sort out a nasty kernel oops for which I would like to ask for some advice. I don't actually think that this is a nut problem, although it is triggered by upsdrvctl or usbhid-ups. I rather suspect the USB library or the associated kernel code. Here is the configuration information: * system: Centos-5.5 * kernel: 2.6.18-194.32.1.el5, latest vanilla

Luster clients getting evicted
on our cluster that has been running lustre for about 1 month. I have 1 MDT/MGS and 1 OSS with 2 OST''s. Our cluster uses all Gige and has about 608 nodes 1854 cores. We have allot of jobs that die, and/or go into high IO wait, strace shows processes stuck in fstat(). The big problem is (i think) I would like some feedback on it that of these 608 nodes 209 of them have in dmesg

2.6.33 high cpu usage
With the ATI bug I was hitting earlier fixed, only my btrfs partition continues to show high cpu usage for some operations. Rsync, git pull, git checkout and svn up are typicall operations which trigger the high cpu usage. As an example, this perf report is from using git checkout to change to a new branch; the change needed to checkout 208 files out of about 1600 total files. du(1) reports

zaptel 1.4.10 regression with TE220B on Proliant DL380 G5 ?
Hi list, After a lot of testing + troubleshooting, I guess I'm observing what I am now calling a regression with zaptel 1.4.10 (is it?) As such I call for peer feedback, before either asking Digium install support or filing a bug. Thanks in advance! System: HP Proliant DL380 G5 with 2x PCI-X + 1x PCIe riser card OS: Centos 5 Kernel: 2.6.18-53.1.14.el5 (also tested under
