pygrub fails to load sometimes?? memory leak??
Preamble:
dom0: Xen 3.0.4 running on Ubuntu 6.06 x86_64.
domU: Xen 3.0.4 or 3.1.0 kernel booting from host pygrub. File backed.
-------------
I am having this strange problem getting pygrub to load consistently.
When I start a domU, I sometimes get this.

Bug#404533: missing fsys python modules for pygrub, and pygrub doesn't work
Package: xen-utils-3.0.3-1
Version: 3.0.3-0-2
Severity: normal
pygrub can't work with this package, because the fsys filesystem modules
included in the source package are missing.
As a workaround, I downloaded the xen-3.0 source package, went into
tools/pygrub/src/, installed e2fslibs-dev and libreiserfs0.3-dev, ran
"make", and copied stuff from

Package: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386
Version: 3.2.0-2
Severity: normal
I'm afraid this bug report will be somewhat unspecific. Please let me
know what I need to do in order to extract more useful information out
of xen.
I have done the following to install xen:
installed xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386, xen-utils-3.2-1,
linux-image-2.6.23-1-xen-686
fixed /usr/sbin/update-grub (see bug #455706)

Bug#391448: xen-hypervisor-3.0-unstable-1-i386: dom0 crashes when starting the 3rd domU
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0-unstable-1-i386
Version: 3.0-unstable+hg11561-1
Severity: important
I've installed
xen-linux-system-2.6.17-2-xen-k7 (version 2.6.17-9)
on a server, and planned to run 3 Xen domUs on it. Creating the domUs
was no problem, and running two of them works well. Starting the third
one however will crash the dom0 and forces it to reboot.
The machine is a Athlon64 3800+

Root-NFS: No NFS server available, giving up.
Hi there.
I have installed Xen successfully on Debian on i386 machines but I am
having problems with an amd64 Opteron on a Sun X2100.
Upon attempting to boot into dom0 I get the following:
Root-NFS: No NFS server available, giving up.
VFS: Unable to mount root fs via NFS, trying floppy.
VFS: Insert root floppy and press ENTER
Not having a floppy I press enter and it reboots.

Xen 3.2 Debian 2.6.18, Remote Serial console only, grub config needed
let''s try this with a shorter subject, which was originally this,
which probably tripped the list-admin-approval triggers....

grub.conf config advice needed
the subject says it all - anyone who knows the answer can stop reading
and hit "send" with a few lines of grub.conf - however, for those

Hello List,
So I managed to get Xen 3.0.1 compiled and installed, but the machine
failed to boot from the Xen kernel. The server's physically located at
a Co-lo, so I'm having to rely on somebody on the other end to tell me
what it's doing and saying.
When I try to boot the -xen0 kernel, the screen fills up with

Problem with serial output
Hello,
I''ve got a problem to get a serial output on grub, xen, linux-xen0 and
getty. The serial works fine with grub, xen and linux-xen0, but I''m
unable to start a console, where I''m able to login. I dont''t get any
output. If I change only the getty from ttyS0 to ttyS1 than I''m able to
login..
At the attachment you can see what I see through a serial,

Xen Installation problems
Hello Xen Users,
I am facing a problem getting my installation of XEN boot up on a Red
Hat Linux Guest OS. What''s happening is that the grub loader tries to
install Xen but after a while it crashes and starts rebooting
recursively. I have tried both the entries listed below. I am using the
following entries in the grub.conf file:
title Xen-bhatia 3.0 / XenLinux-bhatia 2.6.16

Dom0 hang on SuSE 9.3 IA64
I''m having problems booting Dom0 on an unbranded server.
Server is running SuSE 9.3 x86_64 and has been working fine for a couple
of years as a standard boot pc. I installed the 2.0.5c version of Xen
which is part of the SuSE repository. I cannot boot into Xen though,
booting Dom0 stops after:
NET: Registered protocol family 16
I know from a normal boot that the next part is PCI

I''ve managed to capture the contents of the boot at the end before it
restarts:

HS20/Debian Xen boot hanging?
Hello,
I''ve tried all the install directions, all the wiki howtos, etc, and
haven''t been able to startup a Xen domain 0 properly. So far i''ve tried:
- install from binary (2.6.11.12)
- install from source (2.6.11.12)
- aptitude install xen-system (2.6.11.12)
and they all hang when trying to boot. Here''s my typical grub entry:
