Crash with XEN 4.0 on Suse 11.3
Hello,
I get a VM crash while trying to load a database. The "smaller" tables
are loading OK, but When I try a bigger one (#3 000 000 rows) the ASCII
dump file is #766 MB. When I try to load that table the machine crash
and I find always the same message in the "qemu....log'' file :

Seagate floppy creator program doesnt work
Hi there,
http://www.seagate.com/support/disc/download/seatoold_en.exe
Seagate offers a Windows executable (needs Win98 or better, 1,9MB) that
should create 2 bootable floppy disks that contain a harddrive check
program.
Invoking "wine seatoold_en.exe" works, but when the floppy should be
written, an error occurs "insert 1.44 MB...click retry". I tried to

[PATCH 1/2] v2v: Fix conversion of floppy removable devices (RHBZ#1309706).
The previous code treated floppy disks and CD-ROMs as the same kind of
thing, resulting in malformed libvirt XML. You would see the
following error when importing a guest into libvirt:
error: Failed to define domain from /tmp/v2vlibvirt063486.xml
error: internal error: Invalid floppy device name: hdb
because we incorrectly generated this bogus libvirt XML fragment:

Harddisk support not working
Hi!
after experimenting for days with xen I was finally able to narrow down
why my xen setup is not working properly. When I add a harddisk to the
guest system the guest system slows down so much that it becomes
impossible to boot. In my hvm testsystem the guest system is a knoppix
cd. When booting from the cd without having a harddisk in the guest
system everything works perfectly. But as soon

hvm networking with vif-route
Greetings xen gurus...
I''m working with xen-3.0-testing downloaded on July 3, 2006. I have
configured an hvm domain and want to use vif-route and network-route to
configure the communication.
The domU starts up fine. I was able to complete the installation of the OS
(RHES3) and can restart the domain repeatedly. However, I cannot ping the
network interface from dom0 using the

Laptop+SDMMC+Extlinux+Memdisk+Floppy images=headaches
Hello syslinuxers
I'm stuck with a scientific problem which gives me headaches:
I have a laptop (Gateway MX3410) which has a SD memory card reader.
Recently an interesting thought crossed my mind: why don't I setup
a 2GB SD card as a harddrive and put some rescue tools on it.
So I dug on the net and I came across the idea of using memdisk
to boot floppy images without the need of a

Using physical disk in HVM
Hi, guys.
I''m trying to use physical disks as virtual disks in HVM domains.
But I couldn''t.
I''m using cs10508 of xen-unstable.hg.
When I use
disk = [ ''phy:sda5,ioemu:hda,w'' ]
in conf file, creating HVM domain says, I need to use ''file'' modifier if
I use ''ioemu''.
So, I changed it to
disk = [

Memdisk and USB Floppy
I just wanted to chime in and mention that I'm running into the problem
with getting a "Non-system disk..." error on a system using a USB floppy
when the floppy is not attached when I try to boot the system over the
network using memdisk to boot a floppy image. Its actually fairly
important to be able to do this, as the architecture of the hardware
that I'm working with utilizes

How HVM domain distingush ioemu disk and VBD disk
Hi,
From cset 10921, ioemu: prefix is removed from disk config in /etc/xen/xmexample.hvm. Now HVM VBD driver is available, this thus raises a question: how would HVM domain know if one disk is a qemu-dm disk or a VBD disk?
From current implementation, qemu-dm will recognize disk had, hdb, hdc, hdd, and VBD drive can recognize all disk (had~hdd, hde, hdf ...) . So the result is: qemu-dm will
