Instability when using RDMA transport
I've run into a problem with Gluster stability with the RDMA transport. Below is a description of the environment, a simple script that can replicate the problem, and log files from my test system. I can work around the problem by using the TCP transport over IPoIB but would like some input onto what may be making the RDMA transport fail in this case. ===== Symptoms ===== - Error from test

Installing openSuSE 10.3 as PV-guest on a LVM-drive of a openSuSE 10.3 host
Hi, how can I install a openSuSE 10.3 PV-guest on a LVM-drive of a openSuSE 10.3 host with Xen 3.10? On 10.2 with Xen 3.0.3 the openSuSE-YaST-module for managing VMs could install the system also on block-devices, unfortunately this is not possible anymore with OSS 10.3 :-( What I have tried: - I created two LVM-partitions, one for "/" one for swap. - Installing an OSS 10.2 PV-guest

This morning we got a fault management message from one of our production servers stating that a fault in one of our pools had been detected and fixed. SV: How does asterisk behave when multiple phonesare logged in on a single SIP/account?
Yeah I do use ring groups at the moment. But the problem is that I can't control "the flow". Let's take your example. dial(SIP/dev1&SIP/dev2&SIP/dev3) If I dial these 3 numbers, and dev2 is already one the phone. How do I check for that? I only want one of the three phones active at the time. But if no telephone is busy, they all should ring until the call is

Problem booting Suse Linux VM "INIT: cannot execute "/etc/init.d/boot""
Hi Folks, I create a file backed vbd to boot a guest VM as described in the Xen''s user manual in section ''Using File-backed VBDs". The Dom0 and the VBD contain Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10 (X86_64). I am not able to boot the guest VM. During the boot process the INIT process generates an error saying <snip> Loading jbd Loading ext3 Waiting for device /dev/sda1 to

[RFC] Bootloader configuration
This is a proposal for modifying the interface for domU bootloaders (i.e. something that provides us with a kernel and ramdisk file with which the domain can be booted). The current interface, as is, has a number of problems, including: 1) the first disk specified is assumed to be the disk containing the files 2) ''bootentry'' is highly pygrub-specific. There is no easy facility

Q: HOWTO manually boot SLES10 installation
Hi, in SLES10 YaST insists in "xorg-x11" being installed, even if the display is redirected to a remote host. So I thought: Can''t I do it simpler? I''m still new to XEN, but I started like this: mount the SLES10 DVD to /mnt, and use this configuration file: ----- disk = [ ''phy:/dev/system/as1,hda,w'', ''phy:/dev/hda,hdb,r'' ] memory

SLES10 guest OSes drop off network.
I am having issues with guest OSes running on SLES10 (Sun 4200) hosts. Periodically, the guest OS system drops off the network. From the general network it is not pingable, consequently, ssh fails. If however, I log into the SLES10 server that is hosting the guest OS and ssh to the guest OS, then it becomes immediately pingable and accessible to the rest of the network. Almost like the

OT: backing up lvm2 xen disks
Hi all, I need to backup two xen server hosts with several lvm partitions to store xen guests data (all guests are para-virtualized CentOS guests). My intention it is to do a full backup of lvm2 partition where SO resides ( I don't have created lvm2 partitions with snapshot option). Will this procedure works? To backup - dd if=/dev/sysvol/vol01 of=backup.img to restore on another

Samba 4.1.0 & ACL performance problem?
Hello all, I've encountered a performance problem and cannot find a solution to this. My searches in the archives or on google does not bring a light to me, so I would like to ask you, what I am doing wrong or what I missed. The problem arises running on samba-4.1.0 compiled from source under Ubuntu Lucid with kernel version 2.6.32-38. I want to copy a million of small files (mostly under

xen reports: incorrect mhz processor speed
I am using SuSE 10.2 with all updates applied. (kernel 2.6.18.8-0.3) IBM eserver xSeries 360 with quad Xeon 2ghz processors. 6 gb memory. Bios is up to date. When I boot SUSE without Xen the processor speed is reported at 2000 and the system clock keeps time correctly. When I boot the xenpae kernel Xen incorrectly reports a 2493.830 MHz processor. This causes the system clock to lose 12

CONFIG_HUGETLB_PAGE in sles 10 domU?
We''re setting up a sles10 sp3 domU that needs hugepage support according to Oracle. Everything appears to be installed to support it except for the kernel module. The current config shows: # CONFIG_HUGETLB_PAGE is not set If I try to reconfigure the kernel I can''t find anything in the config for huge page support under: File Systems ---> Pseudo File Systems ---> I also
