Bring up problem
I am hoping I can get a little light she on a problem I am having trying to bring up a guest domain. I suspect that the problem is in my supplied file system First the environment. VT enabled dual core EM64T processor, Asus Mb (I can get the exact chipset infor if relevant) 2 Gig of DRAM SATA drives. I have build and booted the domain 0 using 3.0.2-2 version of xen. This seems ok.

kernel names
Hi I am pretty new to this, and this may be an easy one, but I have not found the answer in the docs. The kernels produced from a build seem to have the same name for both the dom0 and domU instances. I get one kernel named vmlnuz-2.16.6-xen Is this expected? Although the dom0 boots, I ma having a crappy time getting a virtualized OS to boot and am trying to see if this is the

xen over quemu OR quemu in Xen domU on a system with HVM-capable CPU
Hello all, I know that the question: Is it possible to run quemu inside Xen domU or run Xen domain 0 on quemu have discussed earlier in this mail list. As far as I remember this is possible except such a configuration where kquemu acceleration is in use. But what about HVM-capable systems? Please tell me are there the same restrictions for the hvm-capable systems? Thank you! -- WBR,

xen not generating hotplug/udev events?
I''m using kubuntu dapper, so /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug is disabled, and instead udevd is running to get events from kernel and do what is necessary. in my first steps with xen (unstable), I get this error: root@nandemonai:~# xm create myxm Using config file "/etc/xen/myxm". Error: Device 2049 (vbd) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working. root@nandemonai:~#

Motherboard capable of VT-d
Hi! I''ve got a motherboard (Gigabyte GA-G33-DS3R) where the Ethernet port has been broken. I''ll buy a new motherboard, but wants to keep all my other equipment (CPU, Memory, TV-cards etc). The requirements/wishes on the new motherboard are 2 Ethernet ports and 2 PCI slots. It would also be good if it would support VT-d. I''ve found two boards that would fulfill my

R loop
I all I am just trying to get the idea of a loop if statement for another purpose. I was going to label a new variable based on date ie first week 1, second week 2 etc. My code in bold is wrong but seems logical to me, could someone help. x <- rep(c(2660156,2663703,2658165,2659303,2661531,2660914),c(2,2,2,2,1,1)) y <- rep(c(6476767,6475013,6475487,6479659,6477004,6476388),c(2,2,2,2,1,1))

Creating a Bootable Image file
Newbie Question: We are using RHEL 5.2 with the 2.6.18-92.1.6.el5xen kernel. I am trying to follow instructions that I found to create an bootable image by doing the following: I first created a 10 gig file and formatted the partition using the dd and mkfs.ext3 commands: dd if=/dev/zero if=generic.img bs=1024k count=10000 mkfs.ext3 -t ext3 generic.img >From a working image that I

iteration history
Dear R Users I would like to use optim function to optimize a function. I read help but I couldn't find what I need: is it possible to get information after each iteration, for example as there is in MATLAB: Gradient's Iteration Func-count f(x) Step-size infinity-norm 0 24 388.976

change the name of file
Dear R Users, Is it possible to make file names dependent on a changing variable? For instance. I generate random numbers in a loop and at each iteration I want data to write to file (I do not want to write everything in one file using 'append'): for (i in 1:50){ x<-matrix(runif(100, min=0,max=1),nrow=5,ncol=20) Write(t(x),file="Data_i.txt",ncolumns=5,sep="\t") }

[HVM][XENOPROFILE][RFC][0/3] xenoprofile HVM patches
Keir, The following 3 patches allow HVM (SVM and VT) guests to be passively profiled using the very latest patches from Renato. These patches apply to 11470. Renato''s patches: http://xenoprof/sourceforge.net oprofile-0.9.1-xen-r2.patch And also a patch not posted FAIK (oprofile-0.9.1-fix-hvm-addr-overlap.patch) which is in the attached tar.bz2 file. hvm_xenoprofile_1.patch - The first

Problem setting up VNC on SLES10 HVM DomU
I''ve just uneventfully installed SLES10 as an HVM DomU (after finding out, the hard way, that OpenSUSE 10.3 won''t install on Intel VT). This almost went without a hitch, but I''ve been banging my head against a brick wall for a few hours trying to get VNC working. I can get a remote desktop, but a few seconds after I log in to the remote desktop, the screen goes

cpufreq problems with hvm
Hi all, I was wondering if cpu frequency scaling in dom0 (using the cpufreq=dom0-kernel boot parameter) may cause problems with HVM domUs? This is on Xen 3.2.1. PV domUs seem to work just fine. They adjust to the frequency change on the go. The HVM I run using the unmodified_driver drivers (also from the 3.2.1 release) seem to have very slow timers if dom0 lowers the frequency. Birger

Overlapping x axes using Lattice
Hi R users I apologise in advance for this question as I suspect it is simple and perhaps others have had this problem. I am struggling to sort out how to fix the x axes so that the labels don't overlap. I have put the following example together to show my problem. library(lattice) titre <- as.factor(rep(c(10999,20999,30999,40999,50999,60999,

Recode of text variables
Hi all I am trying to do a simple recode which I am stumbling on. I figure there must be any easy way but haven't come across it. Given data of A","B","C","D","E","A" it would be nice to recode this into say three categories ie A and B becomes "Treat1", C becomes "Treat 2" and E becomes "Treat 3". I tried

I would like to select a list of variables within a factor The following example is given in help for subset: subset(airquality, Temp > 80 select = c(Ozone, Temp)) So how do I select all temperatures of 90 and 80 ie Temp = c(80,90) I would appreciate your help. Spatial join between two datasets using x and y co-ordinates
Hi R users I am trying to create a spatial join between two datasets. The first data set is large and contains descriptive data including x and y co-ordinates. The second dataset is small and has been selected spatially. The only data contained within the second dataset is the x and y coordinates only i.e. no descriptive data. The aim of a join made between the two datasets is to select
