Running Xen over NFSv3
Does anyone, is anyone running Xen on NFSv3 successfully?
What are some of your pain points/success points?
Have you tried a clustered file system with better results such as DRBD or GFS?

Matt

RE: Run xen with a dual boot system
There''s not a simple answer to this.
First of all, this will not work with currently available hardware, at least not with Xen, because the current implementation of Xen on currently available hardware relies on Xen-friendly code in the OS, which is relatively easy on Linux and other Open Source OS''s, but becomes near impossible on closed source OS''s.

Hi
I have a problem with mercurail repository (with compiling source tree of

Trying to "make world" command (first time) I obtain the following:

select-repository: Ignoring `.''
Unable to determine path to Linux source tree.
Falling back to linux-2.6.18-xen Mercurial repository.

shared cpu resources
Hi all!
I have a doubt about shared resources:
If I have a Dom-0 and two virtual machines Dom1 and Dom2, how can I split
cpu resources? I mean how can I assign exactly 25% of cpu to Dom1 and 75% of
cpu to Dom1? (I assume that Dom-0 uses 0% of cpu).
Can I also choose which is the virtual machine I assign the disk I/O speed?
Thanks very much!

Hi all,
I''m experiencing problems with time: after I sync time both into dom0 and

Do you have the same problem?
Thanks

[RESEND] [PATCH] XFS support for pygrub patch
This patch contains the XFS support code from grub-0.97 ported to
libfsimage.
I''ve already sent this patch on this list six month ago, but it was
rejected because of the freeze.
Attached you can find the patch against the xen-unstable tip.
I''ve got many success reports from users, two of which from this list.

Marco

reload nic modules after boot
Hi all, it''s happening a strange thing:
After I boot the xen dom0 network is unavailable: I have to unload the
network modules and load it again ( rmmod / modprobe) and execute a
service network restart)
This is strange, what do you suggest me to check?
Thanks

Debian amd64-stable and Xen 3.0.

strange VLAN / domu behavior
Hi there!
I am currently setting up a Xen box on 3 VLans, each VLan interface is in a
bridge and currently, dom0 is reachable from on of these and is performing
great.
My only problem is with domU : it can ping anything but it won''t work for
TCP and UDP protocol UNLESS I do a manual tcpdump on my vlan interface.

Credit Scheduler code question
Hi,
I''m a PhD student trying to add some load balancing code to the credit
scheduler in order to fit some specific necessities. I''m trying to
understand the credit scheduler code and I don''t quite get in which part of
it a pcpu starts running a vcpu. I need to keep track of when a vpcu starts
running in a cpu and when it stops. Any hint on that?
I think that it would

Strange interaction from grub2 and XEN
I''m testing how xen and grub2 can work together.
I''m using xen 3.4.2 and grub2 1.97+20091115-1 from debian sid.
After many failed attempts I''ve discovered that on my system the first
argument that grub2 should pass to the linux kernel is lost.
This is my working grub2 configuration:

>PKCS#11 passthrough for Smartcards
Hi all,
Someone mentioned today to me, that the "competing virtualisation product" is capable of doing PKCS-forwarding towards a virtual client.
So, my question here, does XEN supports PKCS-passthrough?
As i also need my smartcard locally (on the hypervisor), i can not use neither pci nor usb-forwarding....
