Please help me understand why I am unable to connect to and browse the
newly configured DFS tree that I installed on my Samba server according
to the instructions found in Chapter 18. "Hosting a Microsoft
Distributed File System Tree" of the official how-to.
Irrespective of whether I try to access the dfs file tree from either

syslinux 6.03 bug related to rev shadow and scroll bar with vshift
I thought I've found three bugs on syslinux 6.03:
(1) With sample config file as is, i.e. leaving commented MENU VSHIFT
and MENU COLOR UNSEL but uncommented MENU COLOR SEL:
A black "border" is displayed below the selected line and on its right edge.
(2) Uncommenting MENU COLOR UNSEL:
This effect appears also on separators and on right edge on every
unselected lines.

Still can't write to a Win98 share! PLEASE HELP!
I've posted here with this problem before, and while several people DID try
to help, nothing seems to work!
Here's the situation (again):
I have a Linux box (Mandrake 7.0) running Samba (2.0.6) compiled from
source. I can mount/read/write the linux shares just fine, but when trying
to write to my Win98 shares (which mount perfectly), I get "permission
denied".

e2fsck dies with signal 11
Hi
I got a strange error, happening on two of my ext3 partitions.
What can be wrong? And why does e2fsck error out, instead of displaying
an error message?
Best regards

apci issue
Hi,
Updated to current bk today, and my machine stopped booting ...
I''ve tracked it down to the apic changes from end of last week.
cset 1.1307 boots fine, 1.1308 doesn''t.
Diff of the boot messages is below. Full logs are also attached.

It is possible to install Windows XP with intel vt now ?
Hi everybody,
I seen many post on running Windows XP on the top of Xen with proper
hardware (Intel Vt) ... I would like to know if at this time, i could do
that with Xen 3.0.2-2 or Xen unstable ? If yes, could you tell me the
procedure ...
In 2 week i will make a show with Intel to demonstrate this possibility ...
If at this time we couldn''t, i will change the contents of the show ;)

Question about Journaling Root Filesystem.
I am trying to use data=journal on my root file system. I have separate
slices on which journal=data works fine on all of them, except root. I
have tried putting rootflags=journal=data on my kernel line in Grub, but
I get a kernel panic. I'm missing something simple, I jut know it. It
can't be the kernel version because it works on the other slices. My
etc/fstab file is as follows:

Reinstalled Windows and GRUB - Cannot boot Linux - fstab and grub.conf errors?
Background: This is a dual boot (Windows XP and CentOS 5.2 (32 bit)
box. There were four (4) NTFS partitions. The C partition got full. I
deleted the 4 NTFS partitions and did a clean install of Windows XP,
into one (1) NTFS partition.
I knew that I would need to install GRUB again and I did that, using
the CentOS 5 Installation DVD. When I tried to boot into Linux, no
joy. this is the GRUB error

Invalid or unsupported executable format, or is it a reiserfs problem?
Our newly build xen kernel does not boot. The error message is : Invalid
or unsupported executable format.
I have build xen from the xen-2.0.4 source (make world, make install) on
a debian sarge system.
I have not changed any of the kernel configurations, I did make an
initrd image.
The entry in my menu.lst is :

Installing openSuSE 10.3 as PV-guest on a LVM-drive of a openSuSE 10.3 host
Hi,
how can I install a openSuSE 10.3 PV-guest on a LVM-drive of a openSuSE
10.3 host with Xen 3.10?
On 10.2 with Xen 3.0.3 the openSuSE-YaST-module for managing VMs could
install the system also on block-devices, unfortunately this is not
possible anymore with OSS 10.3 :-(
What I have tried:
- I created two LVM-partitions, one for "/" one for swap.
- Installing an OSS 10.2 PV-guest
