/lib/tls.disabled or xen-friendly glibc?
Hi, until now I have run Xen with /lib/tls out of the way for both dom0 and domU''s, but now I''m trying to install OpenLDAP in a domU, which requires TLS as default. So now I have at least three options ahead of me: 1. mv /lib/tls.disabled back to /lib/tls and accept the performance penalty (is there any documentation on how heavy this penalty is?) 2. Compile OpenLDAP

using FAI and XEN?
Is anyone using FAI <http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/> to install DomU''s? Our infrastructure is based heavily on using FAI for reproducing server configs so consolidating servers would go much nicer if if we could build the DomU''s with FAI. I''ve not put too much effort into solving my problems yet as I hope someone else ahs solved them for me :) The DomU

puppetd port issues
I configured my rsync daemon to be restarted when the rsyncd configuration file changes. When the rsync daemon gets restarted by puppet, it listens on the same port puppetd does, so running puppetd again results in an error. The init script for rsync is small and can not be changed from puppet (all variables are declared within the init script and it only searches for the path where the rsync

rsync problem in systemimager
Hello, I'm working on the oscar-1.3 release with my Linux Itanium's cluster to test cloning process via systemimager. After having succeeded to boot my client node via the network, when running the following script : /var/lib/systemimager/scripts/ced1.sh rsync is able to get small files (e.g : mkdosfs). However, when the script tries to rsync the whole oscar image in the following way :

CentOS 4 and CentOS 5 DomU on CentOS 5 Dom0: problems with hand-built OS and LVM
I''ve been running any number of CentOS 4 based Xen hosts and guests using CentOS 4.4, and the Xen RPM''s from www.xensource.com, and various hand-built OS images using jailtime and my own own OS images. I like the jailtime approach: One partition for / on the DomU, /dev/sda1, built as a local file or local LVM partition One partiton for swap on the DomU, /dev/sda2,

Centos 5.1 DomU on Debian Etch Dom0
Hi Centos users I successfully installed a Centos 5.1 DomU on Debian Etch Dom0. I used the virtual file systems from Jailtime[0] How to this manual (without using Jailtime)? I wish to install from Scratch. Xen-tools/rpmstrap doesn't work for me. cheers Simon [0] http://jailtime.org/ -- XMPP: sjolle at swissjabber.org

Ubuntu 8.04 DomU image from jailtime.org on CentOS 5.2 Dom0
Hello all, I am trying to get an Ubuntu 8.04 image running on my CentOS 5.2 Dom0 which so far has only been running CentOS 5.2 DomUs. The image I am trying to run was fetched from jailtime.org (just so I didn't have to go through building an image for myself). The configuration of the DomU is based on what the guys at jailtime.org provided and its as follows name = "redgum"

Re: matrix __power__ (was "exponential")
Sorry I didn't answer before. Martin, thanks very much for your notes and for tidying the function up! About matPower, I didn't realise that where it says "pot <- pot %*% p ot", consumption of memory was higer than it was on the original algorithm, And about the other function in this thread, matExp, I can remember I us look to m >Message: 27

Query on permissions
I have a question related to the use of -p (or -a which includes -p) to set remote file / directory permissions. I am using rsync along with System Imager to manage the "master image" of a number of compute nodes in a cluster. I have more than one cluster, so each head node has a copy of the "master image" (for the compute nodes in its cluster). I want to make sure that all
