Cannot have eth0 in domU
Hello,
I am trying to run Xen 3 on FC5, but I cannot have the eth0 interface appear in domU.
I have 3 servers running FC3 and Xen 2 with various domUs since a year. Everything is fine on that front.
I took one of the server, upgraded it to FC5 and did the following:
- yum install xen kernel-xen0 kernel-xenU
- grub.conf contains
title Fedora Core (2.6.15-1.2054_FC5xen0
root (hd0,0)

new user - new issues
Just installed Xen 3 on FC5
that all went smooth following:
http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXenQuickstart
I want to however create a FC4 virtual machine -
I attepmpted to use the image at: http://jailtime.org
but it doesnt seem to work (networking fail, most else works great) --
I am thinking that it is because those are for Xen 2 (??)
So, is there another place to get images for Xen 3?

compiz on aiglx redux
Hi,
I've revisited compiz on aiglx and at this point, if you're running
rawhide (fedora development), it's a matter of installing the i386 RPM
found here:
http://people.redhat.com/krh/compiz/
There's a SRPM there too for other architectures, rebuild using
rpmbuild --rebuild compiz-0.0.13.fedora1-3.src.rpm
To run compiz, first start the gnome-window-decorator process in

FC5 and Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Hi all,
I have recently installed FC5 along with xen via yum. I''ve successfully rebooted using the dom0 (2.6.16-1.2133_FC5) kernel, started xend, and trying to start my first domU after following the instructions in the user guide. However, I keep receiving a kernel panic and an error about XENBUS timeout. Any help greatly appreciated as I am stumped. Should I be using the provided

CentOS 4 and CentOS 5 DomU on CentOS 5 Dom0: problems with hand-built OS and LVM
I''ve been running any number of CentOS 4 based Xen hosts and guests
using CentOS 4.4, and the Xen RPM''s from www.xensource.com, and various
hand-built OS images using jailtime and my own own OS images.
I like the jailtime approach:
One partition for / on the DomU, /dev/sda1, built as a local file or
local LVM partition
One partiton for swap on the DomU, /dev/sda2,

newhidups failing with Nova 1100 on FC5
I have been testing out my new MGE Nova 1100 on a system (dual Athlon) running
Fedora Core 5 and the newhidups driver seems to be regularly dying.
The UPS is the USB model, I have nut-2.0.3-0.1.fc5 and nut-cgi-2.0.3-0.1.fc5
installed. I am running a 2.6.16 kernel. (I haven't upgraded to FC5's
2.6.17 kernel yet as there seem to be some complaints about it.)
The driver initially works.

fc5 and link to sources?
Just installed fc5, installed correct kernel source, and trying to
compile zaptel-1.2. Changed the link in /lib/modules/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5
to point to /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES. Like:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 May 12 15:21 build -> /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES
A 'make install' still complains with:
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5/build SUBDIRS=/usr/src/zaptel-1.2

Xen 3.0.2 FC5 Reboots
I just upgraded my Fedora Core 5 Xen server from 1 gig or memory to 2. When
I start the machine it begins to load the Xen kernel and then reboots. I can
boot the machine on straight FC5 without Xen. If I put it back to 1 gig of
memory Xen will boot fine. I looked in the xend.log and didn''t see anything.
I do see some kind of page_fault error on the screen before the server
reboots.

fedora1, RH9 and slackware machines they just never do this.
its most annoying..
they all use IP's not names. all access lists are identical, all hosts

grub/raid1 on centos4
With Centos3, fedora1/2 I have been able to put /boot on a RAID1
partition and have it boot normally. Unlike earlier versions that
used lilo as the default boot loader, these did not make the 2nd drive
bootable but at least I was fairly confident that if the first drive
failed I could use the install CD in rescue mode to fix up the 2nd one
and go on. However, Centos4 won't boot at all with

FC5 32-bit vs 64-bit
Hello,
I am a biostats student and a newbie to R. I have a question about
32-bit vs. 64-bit.
I am running FC5 on a AMD 3800+ with 2GB Ram. With 64-bit, I am
running into some issues the stability of FC5. A friend suggested I
ditch the 64-bit version of FC5 for the 32-bit. I do not currently
have any pressing needs for the capabilities of the 64-bit OS. Before
I reinstall the 32-bit

Compiling zaptel on FC5
Are there any generic install guidelines for compiling the Zaptel drivers on
FC5? This is my first install of Asterisk (and my first FC5 system) and I'm
having a great deal of trouble getting it to cooperate. make clean and make
are definitely not playing nice, telling me that "You don't appear to have
the kernel sources installed" when I'm pretty sure that I do. Any
