shoutcast perl module
Hi I've recently upgraded the Perl Shout v1.0 library to accomodate the new libshout and icecast2 formats. I have a tarball I'd like to submit; who might I send it to? Thanks, -paulb =========================================================================== paulb@oasis-software.com "I'm fuzzy on this whole good/bad thing" paulb@foobox.com

perl libshout
Hi, I've just completed a conversion of the perl Shout-1.0 library to something that will talk to an icecast2 server. I'll be submitting the results for inclusion back to the icecast site. One thing is missing: proper metadata support. this feature has changed since icecast 1; previously it was a single string. now, it's a linked list of key/value pairs.

metadata handling
I'm trying to using metadata now in my application that uses libshout, and am seeing curious behaviour. my icecast2 log says: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= [2003-04-03 08:45:50] INFO connection/_handle_source_request Source logging in at mountpoint "/cajun" [2003-04-03 08:45:50] DBUG source/source_main Source creation complete [2003-04-03

repeated measure test
Hi, This is a question regarding technique rather than an R specific issue. I have been asked to evaluate a 30+ year long term continuous survey of bird presence/absence data that has an associated ocular estimate of the vegetation community percent coverage. The data are organized by subpopulations (5), and by year ( 1991 - present). We are interested in gaining understanding on whether bird

Using optim function for logistic model simulation
Hello! I'm a college undergrad desperately trying to finish up my thesis. I have a dataset on the distribution of a grassland bird from the Breeding Bird Survey. I have a very straightforward and simple version of the logistic growth model to describe changes in this bird's abundance over time. The variables are the natural birth rate, mortality, and carrying capacity. The equation itself

R neophyte question.
Hi all, I'm currently working through the "Beginner's Guide to R" (Zurr et al.) and I'm wondering about the first exercise in chapter 3: I imported the data from BirdFluCases.txt and executed the 'names' and 'str' functions as follows: Bird = read.table(file='C:\\rbook\\BirdFluCases2.txt', header=TRUE) names(Bird) [1] "Year"

lmer{lme4}, poisson family and residuals
Hello, I’m trying to fit the following model: Dependent variable: MAXDEPTH (the maximum depth reached by a penguin during a given dive) Fixed effects: SUCCESSMN (an index of the “individual quality” of a bird), STUDYDAY (the day of the study, from -5 to 20, with 0=Dec 20), and the interaction SUCCESSMN*STUDYDAY Random effect: BIRD (the bird id, as each bird is performing several dives)

Adehabitat package question - trying to generate animal home ranges
Hello, I'm new to R and am trying to use the adehabitat package for home range and habitat selection analysis for some animal radiotelemetry data sets I have, but I can't get the home range functions (mcp & kernelUD) to work with my data. I think that my problem is that I don't properly understand how the package uses data frames and factors, and I may not be defining the id

Building factors across two columns, is this possible?
I am trying to make it so two columns with similar data use the same internal numbers for same factors, here is the example: > read.csv("test.csv",header =FALSE,sep=",") V1 V2 V3 1 sun moon stars 2 stars moon sun 3 cat dog catdog 4 dog moon sun 5 bird plane superman 6 1000 dog 2000 > data <-

Mclust - which cluster is each observation in?
I'm trying to test a method of identifying individuals (birds) based on measured data (their calls). I have test data from known individual birds, and I am using the Mclust package to see if the program can correctly identify which calls come from different birds. So far, mclust has correctly ID'd the number of birds in the test data set (i.e., the correct # of clusters). However I

unordered multinomial logistic regression (or logit model) with repeated measures (I think)
I am attempted to examine the temporal independence of my data set and think I need an unordered multinomial logistic regression (or logit model) with repeated measures to do so. The data in question is location of chickens. Chickens could be in any one of 5 locations when a snapshot sample was taken. The locations of chickens (bird) in 8 pens (pen) were scored twice a day (AMPM) for 20 days

t-bird annoyance
Anyone got any clues? I'm running 6.3, t-bird 10.0.12, and KDE. I get emails with .docx attachment, and t-bird has no idea what to do with them (and doesn't even offer me a choice)."Change your preferences... So I open the source of the email, and at the beginning of the doc I see Content-Type: application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document; In system

Dear all, I have received some data on birds that looks sth like this: # a unique id for each individual id <- c(1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,5,6) # the year the bird was measured year <- c(1995, 1996, 1997, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1996, 1997, 1997, 1998) # the year the bird was hatched year.hatch <- c(1995, 1995, 1995, 1995, 1995, 1995, 1996, 1996, 1996, 1996, 1996, 1997, 1998)

Remove single entries
Dear Community, I have a data set with two columns, bird number and mass. Individual birds were captured 1-13 times and weighed each time. I would like to remove those individuals that were captured only once, so that I can assess mass variability per bird. I¹ve tried many approaches with no success. Can anyone recommend a way to remove individuals that were captured only once? Thanks, Ray

Bootstraping for groups and subgroups and joing with other table
Dear R-experts, I have a table with following collumns: State, SamplePlot, Species and BodySize. I sampled bird species at 34 SamplePlots and 5 States (regions) monthly during two years. On each bird record I measured bodysize and identified the species. So I have many records of each species (about 150 species) at each SamplePlot and each Region (State). Now I would like bootstrap

[LLVMdev] [GSoC] llvm-test
Hello, My name is Ander Martínez and I'm interested on working to extend the llvm test suite, but I have some doubts I'd like to solve before applying. I have never used llvm but was thinking on studying it during summer for some project I have in mind but then I saw you have one project to extend the test suite so I thought I could learn it while writing tests, but maybe you are expecting
