Powernow-k8 support
Hi, I recently subscribed to xen-users asking about a powernow-k8 problem, but in the meantime I am not sure if the users-list was the right place for it. So I decided to repeat my question here ;-) My current config is attached. --- snip --- Hi, I recently installed Xen on my AMD64 for my first time and so far, everything seems to work pretty fine. :-) I tried to enable cpu frequency

powernow error in Xen VM with new kernel
I just upgraded my first Xen guest to the latest 5.2 kernel (2.6.18- 92.1.13.el5xen) and got a kernel error on reboot: powernow-k8: BIOS error - no PSB or ACPI _PSS objects No problems seen yet. I would think that the guest should not try to do any powernow stuff at all. Has anyone else noticed this? Kai -- Kai Sch?tzl, Berlin, Germany Get your web at Conactive Internet Services:

Status of frequency scaling
Hi! I would like to know the status of the frequency scaling in XEN. I found a web site saying that XEN doesn’t work with frequency scaling, at the other hand I found some fixes for powernow-k8 to get rid of some messages. I have an AMD64. powerno-k8 works find with non-XEN kernels, but with XEN-kernels I get the error: powernow-k8: Found 1 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3400+ processors

cpu frequency scaling in domUs
Hi, I''ve recently installed xen-3.2.1 on my AMD Sempron(tm) machine. It runs gentoo 2.6.21 as dom0 and cpu frequency scaling works in dom0. But inside a domU, cpu frequency scaling is not working. By checking the boot log in domU I found that domU is unable to load the powernow driver: "powernow-k8: BIOS error - no PSB or ACPI _PSS objects" I wonder if it is possible to have

Hello, We have recently purchased two Supermicro servers, AS-1021M-T2RB (http://www.supermicro.com/Aplus/system/1U/1021/AS-1021M-T2RV.cfm), and have built them both with CentOS 5 operating system. AMD Opteron 1218 wrong CPU metrics in 6.3
Hello all, since upgrade to 6.3 (and kernel 2.6.32-279.x) it looks like only one core of the AMD Dualcore Opteron 1218 is functional. Reverting to previous kernel shows everything working as expected. I've filed a bug report here after failing to figure out if it is just a configuration problem: http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=5821 I can't find anything on the net that would

compaq v2000 working with correct boot options and compaq r4000 still SLOWWW
Hi, I have a v2000 compaq laptop. The realtek network and USB on this machine was not working. After adding to grub.conf "acpi=off apci=off noacpi noapic" the v2000 realtek started working and the USB worked fine... Fantastic! So I thought I would try those same options on my r4000 laptop. they had no effect.... This AMD turion 64 4000+ rating laptop is still running SLOWWW...

[cpfreq][PATCH][2/2] Linux support for the architectural pstate driver
With the third generation Opteron parts, AMD switched to an architecturally defined interface for PowerNow! that uses different MSRs than previous versions. This patch brings the PowerNow! driver up to match the mainline Linux driver and provide support for all AMD parts that use or will use the architectural pstate interface. It also removes a WARN_ON statement in kernel/cpu.c that highlights a

Writing MSRs from Domain0
Hello, I recently tried Xen 3.0.3-testing on my 2x Opteron-244 SMP machine. Everything works well exept one detail, which is not unimportant to me: the powernow-k8 driver fails to switch frequencies. A closer look on the powernow-k8 source reveals, that some MSR write operations seem to be without any effect. A rdmsr() before and after the wrmsr() call reveals that no real change on the register

Cool 'n Quiet
Hey all, Since moving a 4.3 x86-64 install from a single athlon64 to a new dual core AMD cpu it would appear that cool'n quiet is having trouble as is shown in the system logs; powernow-k8: ignoring illegal change in lo freq table-2 to 0x2 powernow-k8: transition frequency failed Any ideas ? Cheers, Brian.
