Disabling checksum offloading at install OSOL 2009.06 PV DomU on Xen 3.4.1 Ubuntu 9.04 Dom0 ( with 2.6.30.1 xenified aka Suse kernel)
Following bellow procedure involves Solaris Kernel module debugger to patch OSOL’s (SNV_111b) kernel at booting up to succeed with dhcp lease and to be able proceed with initial install. File /etc/system gets updated via root terminal session before standard reboot to make the patch for kernel permanent

[PATCH 0/1] virt-v2v: Track hd->sd block device remaps
During the conversion process, hd* block devices under Xen are mapped
to sd* devices for use under guestfs. These sd devices are later
remapped to vd* (or sd/hd) devices, for future use under kvm.
The current code fails to track the original hd* device names. This
causes subsequent remappings of the block devices (in such places as
/etc/fstab, and /boot/grub/menu.lst), to skip the hd* devices,

Dahdi 2.3.0.1 fails to compile in Xen DomU
Greetings list,
I've compiled and installed dahdi countless times on standalone machines,
but recently I've been trying to compile Dahdi in a Xen DomU without much
success. The errors I'm seeing are as follows:
/var/tmp/portage/net-misc/dahdi-2.3.0.1/work/dahdi-linux-2.3.0.1/drivers/dahdi/zaphfc/base.c:1689:

AW: xenified 2.6.29 ready to use tar.gz
Hi Daniel,
i''ve tested your kernel with slight modifications to your .config (-> domU only)
on 64bit 3.2.1 and 3.3 as guest kernel.
Compared to the classic 2.6.18.8 the guests are consuming about 25% more CPU,
network IO increased by about 15%, disk IO also. Memory footprint is about 10% less.
Maybe there are better caching strategies built into this 2.6.29.
I''d like to try

1.73-pre6 doesn't like kbdmap
Hi,
just tried 1.73-pre6 pxelinux:
- booting linux works
- memdisk with 1.44M Dos image works
- the 'kbdmap'-parameter fails:
[..]
Unknown keyword in config file.
Missing parameter in config file.
boot:
- and it doesn't remap any keys.
I tried 1.66 with the same config file and it works, it accepts
'kbdmap' and also remaps the keys.

Josef

Thank you very much!

Nicolas,
Did you play with nvidia-settings? Maybe also wipe out xorg.conf and start afresh.

Wine is using onboard graphic card instead of the "real" one
hi,
I'm trying for some time to get a few games to run and it seems like Wine wants to use my onboard graphic card (ATI HD 3200) instead of my ATI HD 5670. The reason i think that is a) sometimes when launching Starcraft 2 it tells me that the driver for my graphics card HD3200 is out of date and that i should update, and b) i found this when i tried launching Natural Selection 2.:

thats not actually true. the drive will report 'bad sector' if you
try and read data that the drive simply can't read. you

Hi,
- Working on Xen 3.4 over Ubuntu 9.04 -
I managed to get a Debian lenny domU working, but I can''t find a way to display it graphically...
I mean, i can enter the console, commands are working, but I don''t really understand how to get something else than the console.
When i try to do xm vncviewer lenny , i get the "Alarm clock" error.
Is there something to modify
