lss broken when upgraded 4.05 to 6.03
Hi, I have just joined the list. I am the original creator of Puppy Linux, now letting other guys take the reins, and I am working on a fork of Puppy called Quirky Linux, where I try various experimental ideas. Up until now, in Puppy and all offshoots, we have used syslinux 4.05 or older. Over the last few days I have been testing 6.03 (using the binary DEBs from Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn),

Swfdec and Ffmpeg only
Hi, I'm the founder and still very active developer of Puppy Linux, and a variant named Quirky. Puppy is a cut-down distro, typically 100MB live-CD. We have always used the Adobe Flash player, though I have stayed with the Flash 9 player (9.0.48.0) due to its smaller size. Puppy also has ffmpeg, xine-lib and gxine. Recently I have been experimenting with Swfdec and Swfdec-mozilla. I started

DIY hardware player -> Vorbis??
Hello all, I ran across this link from slashdot and it looks like it has a lot of potential: http://www.pjrc.com/tech/mp3/ It is a built-it-yourself kit project for an mp3 player. Although there are still some things that need to be refined, this could be one path to getting a cheap Vorbis hardware player. As I said, it is currently set up for mp3 files, but the firmware is supposedly

Trouble with WOW "Trouble finding sutible display device".
The launcher downloads fine but when I push "Play" I get this error message. I am have not updated the drivers on my laptop because I have no idea how. Also, I installed "wine-1.2.2-i486.pet" which was probably the wrong move but it was a pain to find a .pet for wine 1.2.2. Yes, I know that downloading WOW on a Puppy linux box is a little silly but I am also having trouble

I'm running a CentOS 6.5 chroot to build Pale Moon (a Firefox fork) for older machines running distros like Puppy linux. Before anyone asks... * Yes, even though the older machines are using "ancient" glibc, etc, they do have security patches back-ported, e.g. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=90461 "Lucid Puppy Revitalized as 5.2.8.7 - December,

Can WINE help me using Dell Axim from Puppy Linux 511?
Since I'm new to this forum I probably I'm doing something wrong, I'm sorry if this's the case! I don't have a windows base system, solely Puppy Linux. I do have an Axim, though; can't do hardly anything useful with it since starting using just Linux. Went through many pages about WINE but failed to locate any useful info. That's the reason for posting my issue here.

Loading syslinux native from a USB HDD
Hi there guys! I want to set up Puppy-Linux to run off a 2GB USB key-drive in native mode (I.e. not as a virtual machine, which I'm finding runs too slow on my system, under XP.) To test it out, I want to run off a 150GB USB HDD. Now this drive is NTFS formatted and way bigger than the 1GB file structure limit that I read about in the Syslinux documentation. There's only one

Asterisk throws error using the alsa module

All settings are the default ones with exception of: /etc/asterisk/modules.conf: load => chan_alsa.so noload => chan_oss.so /etc/asterisk/alsa.conf: input_device=default output_device=default asterisk is started up and doesn't complain about alsa in
