How to preserve capital letter
Hi all, I'm not sure whether it is samba related, but I've got this situation: I'm sharing a clipper program with samba, and then user access it using dosemu installed in each workstation. The program runs fine, except, when it creates a temporary file, it creates the filename in small letter (not in capital letter when run in DOS). Seems that the program is having trouble with

Advance filesystem permission
Hi all, Is it possible to have a filesystem permission like the one in w2k? For example: - Allow to see file list but not allow to read the file - Allow to list folder but not allow to enter it A friend of mine is migrating from w2k to samba and ask me about those features. Transfer rate above the desired (tc+htb)
Hi folks. I started to play with tc+htb last week, and I must confess that this thing is really driving me nuts. All we want to do is control bw, with no borrowing. In order to get the feeling on this subject, I have setup the following test bed. ---A---B---C--- On B: eth0 connecting A and eth1 connecting C. The script. tc qdisc del dev eth0 root tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: htb

[Bridge] Building 1.1 ?
Good day Folks! Working on a bridging firewall/gateway and attempting to solve the age-old mystery of whether I can get NAT to work across a gateway that has 2 NICs and requires a bridge... Upside is, I have the gateway working, bridging works (as does OpenVPN using that bridge). But NAT does not in Fedora Core 4... >From dmesg: Linux version 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4 So I went to the website and

Cannot get htb & prio working together.
Hi, I''ve failed miserably in my endeavours so far and I''m at the point where help would be much appreciated. I want to have 3 bandwidth limited classes on my Internet interface. In each of those classes I want 3 prioritization bands, and then use "tc filters" to place the traffic into the correct class and priority. The problem is that the traffic

warnings when installing modules with latest from -unstable
I just cloned a xeno-unstable.bk tree ( < 30 minutes ago). autofs.ko didn''t get generated for some reason, so I did a separate make modules pass. Then I did a make modules_install from which I got a heap of unknown symbols warnings. I thought this might be fallout from the switch to 2.6.11. -Kip WARNING: /lib/modules/2.6.11-xen0/kernel/fs/fat/fat.ko needs unknown symbol _spi

[PATCH 1/2] Runtime configuration of HTB''s HYSTERESIS option (kernel)
The HTB qdisc has a compile time option, HTB_HYSTERESIS, that trades accuracy of traffic classification for CPU time. These patches change hysteresis to be a runtime option under the control of "tc". The effects of HYSTERESIS on HTB''s accuracy are significant (see chapter 7, section 7.3.1, pp 69-70 in Jesper Brouer''s thesis: http://www.adsl-optimizer.dk/thesis/ ),

[PATCH] x86-64: IOMMU compilation
This patch enables x86-64 Xen dom0 to compile if IOMMU is enabled in the kernel config. Warning, dom0 will crash during boot of the kernel if IOMMU is enabled. These changes do not affect non-IOMMU enabled kernels (a fact I have verified myself). I am currently working on debugging the IOMMU dom0 crash. Signed-off-by: Jon Mason <jdmason@us.ibm.com> ---

[Bridge] [PATCH/RFC] Reduce call chain length in netfilter (take 2)
Hi, This is a second try to fix the long chain call lengths in netfilter. The difference with the previous patch is that I got rid of the extra argument. I somehow didn't see it could be done without using the 'int *ret2' argument. A comment on the number of arguments to nf_hook_slow: I don't think the number of arguments should be decreased. For the bridge-nf code, f.e., the
