How to configure two NICs on a DomU?
Hi, When I install Oracle RAC on Xen VM, some problem occurred. How can I configure two NICs on a Xen''s DomU. You know, RAC''s installation requires two NICs on a node. I am a newbie about Xen. Please give me some advice. Thanks. Yaqiong lee Beijing,China -----邮件原件----- 发件人: xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com [mailto:xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com] 代表

individual scripts for each domU
Is there a way to run individual scripts when a domU is started up ? I want to run certain commands each time a domU is booted up. These are different for each domU. I know i can make shell scripts which run those commands and in turn use those scripts to start and stop the domU''s, however i was wondering if there is a provision in xen for something of this sort. Thanks. -- regards,

xen + centos + areca raid issues
I am trying to run a new server with centos + xen using centos xen packages. After installation, we had to install a hardware raid card (areca) on the machine, and thus reload the os. It so happens the drivers shipped aren''t compatible with xen kernel, so i was forced to compile xen from source to compile areca drivers. Now with system running under compiled xen, i cannot boot my old

Seeing the IP addresses of domUs from dom0
Using a default xen3.0.1 setup for dom0(rhel4 distro) and domUs (gentoo, rhel4, centos4.2 distros, ttylinux) with the domUs all having dhcp turned on, is there an easy way to tell from within the dom0 what ip addresses were assigned to the domUs after bootup? On an eight cpu system domU ''cap'' can only be set to 100
On a 8 Core system only dom0 can set cap > 100 and vcpus > 1. On a domU ''xm sched-credit -d <domU> -c 200'' says "Error: cap is out of range". Vcpu cannot be set higher than 1 - regardless of boot/config/command line. Low performance is equivalent to the cap setting. See ''xm list --long'': (domain (domid 0) (uuid

LVM2 snapshots and XEN = problem :(
Hello guys Does anyone use lvm2 backends for domU storages ? I do and I wanted to use lvm''s snapshot feature to make backups of domUs in background but I got the following problem. When I create a snapshot LV and copy data from it to backup storage it works perfect. Then I do umount and then lvremove. lvremove asks me if I really want to remove the volume and then just hangs forever.

DomU trying to write on an IO Port
Hi, I am running xen-hypervisor over qemu. Now while running domU I want to write on an IO port, which I''ll be handling inside Qemu. Basically, this is a communication mechanism for me to communicate with qemu. I am writing on port number ''0x378'' as a root user using "outl" function. But when I run this code in domU, it does not reach qemu. So my question is:

[Patch] Fix IDLE issue with sedf scheduler on IA64
Hi, Dan, This patch fixes strange behavior on IA64, that IDLE is scheduled more than Dom0 with default sEDF scheduler. The key point is reprogram_ac_timer at the end of ac_timer dispatcher, which programs local apic timer with expire of next ac_timer on x86. Higher precision lapic timer can trigger ac_timer more precisely than simply done in PIT interrupt handler. That works perfectly on x86
