3.0.1p1 losing tty modes?
Hello, openssh-3.0.1p1 appears to transmit and parse tty modes correctly, but later in the code it uses vhangup() to close all tty references and reset the tty to default modes. I don't think that vhangup() should be needed on Unix98 ptys, possibly not even on BSD ptys, and I am probably wrong, so please tell me where. Of course vhangup() clears all tty modes, so you need to save them

ANNOUNCE: openssh-1.2.2p1
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 This is a patch release which contains fixes to all the problems which have been reported over the last month. Most importantly: OpenSSL-0.9.5 has exposed a bug in RSA key generation on systems which lack a /dev/random (Solaris, HPUX, SCO). On such systems this port was not properly initialising OpenSSL's entropy pool. This results in lower

Failed to mount devpts
Hi all, I've been trying to start a LXC container using libvirt, but I keep getting `Failed to mount devpts on /vservers/quantum/fs/dev/pts: Invalid argument'. I found a similar thread on the mailing list a couple months ago (https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvirt-users/2012-January/msg00052.html), but the solution posted didn't work for me. Anyone has any ideas? Extra Info:

Error starting DomU (Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found)
Hi, I am not able to start a new domainU on FC5. To start the new domain I give command xm create -c domU.conf vmid=1. This gives me the following error: VFS: Mounted root (ext3 filesystem) readonly. Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel. Call Trace: <ffffffff80128d62>{panic+134} <ffffffff801083a6>{init+908}

Trouble getting a DHCP address when booting.
Hi. I spawned a thread last week about the failure of bridged networking and I have gotten a little further. Turns out that I _do_ have network connectivity from inside the domains, but I cannot get the network to come up when I boot. I have to login and start up the network manually. E.g. after installing Debian Sarge according to the debootstrap method outlined in the users manual, I created a

Samba mount (from one of our build scripts). We decided to upgrade to RedHat 7.2 (which uses a newer version of Samba -- 2.1.1b IIRC), maybe that fixes the problem. However, I decided to submit this bug report, in the hope that it may help kill some bugs. (Remember -- the only good bug, is a dead bug :)) So, here is the dmesg output: Linux version 2.2.16-22enterprise

Wrong user used when mounting with mount.cifs
This may be sorta off topic considering this is probably regarding the linux kernel but I am hoping someone here will have the answer anyway. I am having the strangest problem when mounting a samba share with "-t cifs" as opposed to "-t smbfs" where, instead of mounting as the user I am logged in as, it is mounted as if I were logged on as a completely different user. linux-2.6-xen.hg: Selecting "Xen-compatible" subarchitecture makes most of the drivers unselectable
Hi list! What''s the correct way to solve this problem? When you select "Xen-compatible" subarchitecture most of the drivers (network, scsi, etc) disappear from the menuconfig.. Currently linux-2.6-xen.hg repository is unusable (as is).. for dom0 and domU also. -- Pasi Kärkkäinen ^ . .

Re: Problems with ext3 fs
Hi, I have read this thread and want to say that I have expirienced the same problem. Once, when I was loged in, one of my filesystems ( root filesystem :( ) became read-only with the same symptoms. But results was more tragic. Almost in each directory avg. 10% of files had incorrect attributes, owner, links, etc. But filenames was correct. So, I was obliged to re-create root filesystem :(

Slow disk access on Dell Latitute with ATA/ATAPI-5 T13 1321D
Hi... I have a Dell Latitute with an ATA/ATAPI-5 T13 1321D and it would seem that my disk access is extremely slow. I have the latest updated kernel from RedHat 8.0 kernel 2.4.18-27.8.0. Somehow I think it is related to the UDMA stuff (shows my level of understanding). I have run hdparm and although I think I should at least udma level 5, I have at most udma2 listed. Is this a kernel

New error: Failed to create chardev
Hi. I'm running libvirt across a fleet of CentOS 7 desktops to provide VMs for other operating systems, and they've been running fine for the last year, through rebuilds, etc. In the last week, PCs that have been rebuilt no longer start our VMs, failing with the error: error: internal error: process exited while connecting to monitor: 2016-09-15T10:15:12.839724Z qemu-kvm: -chardev

isolinux 2.01 bug with Compaq and Promise BIOS
I have a Compaq something with a PII-400 and an Intel 440BX/ZX/DX chipset. I put in a Maxtor Ultra133 PCI controller (which is a Promise PDC20269, same as their TX2) and connected the hard drive thereto. Before we go on, I should say that I **hate** both Promise and Compaq. I wouldn't actually BUY this junk. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, as they say. :) (An old idiom I grew up
