Xen, NFS performance, rsize, wsize and MTU
We have a Xen 3.0 / Linux kernel 2.6.15 machine with the domU''s configured for shared /home directories. One of the domU''s is an NFS server, exporting /home, and the other domU''s all mount this. It all functions fine, but it''s pretty slow. I tried untarring a recent Linux kernel tarball. On the NFS server domU this takes about 25 seconds. I didn''t

vif0.0/veth0 or eth0
When does vif0.0 get created? Is there some shell magic? Xen on production enviroment
Hi, Someone already use xen as production server? For example: 3 domains (mail, proxy and web server). And what about stability? Regards, Marlon _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

App virtualisation, not OS virtualisation
I would like to run multiple copies of an application on a PC with multiple remote dumb clients. It would seem to me that running Xen would be a sub-optimal solution as I would need a copy of the OS running for every copy of the application, but I was wondering whether a subset of Xen or Xen techniques could be used. There are 2 barriers to running multiple applications with remote access: -

bad udp cksum by dns request in domU
Hello I use XEN 3.0 in debian sarge. I have a domU1 for routing and firewall. This domU1 use 2 network interfaces which is on a bridge ''gate'' and the other on bridge ''lan''. dumU2 use one interface (eth0) on bridge ''lan''. Then I make a ping out of domU2 to www.debian.de so I get no answer. The name isn''t resolved. A ping to IP of

CRC Checksum problems causing issues with bridging and maybe things like nfs. Wish we had better documentation. (was Re: XenNetworking - Reason for NOARP on eth1/br1?)

Benchmarking Xen - Xeon vs Opteron. Will memory latency make a difference?
Has anyone done any performance profiling for Xen on different platforms? I''m wondering if the big (50%+) memory latency advantage the Opteron''s have over the Xeon''s makes a big difference in the context of a Xen host with multiple active guest domains. Particularly at the moment I''m considering the 2-way situation with the SunFire v20z vs the Intel SR1400JR2.

make errors while compiling
Dear R users - I am a first-time R user trying to compile v.0.90.0 under Caldera OpenLinux 2.3, on a Dell PII400/128. I've encountered a problem with the make file. First, I run configure, which appears to complete properly. (I had to download an updated gcc library from caldera for this to happen though.) At the end of its run, config reports: > R is now configured for

open ssl
I am trying to get any version of sshd working on a cobalt raq3/4(one of each). I tried ssh.com's version(1.2.31) and I got linking errors. I am going to try to install openssh, but I need to install openssl, and was wondering if that will mess up the web server on the raqs. Any responses are welcome. errors: gcc -pipe -c -I. -I./gmp-2.0.2-ssh-2 -I./zlib-1.0.4 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DHOST

HPUX 9.05 & Samba 2.0.0 & problems -> solved !
Hi there ! I just solved the problem that produced following error in smb.log file: 'check_access_allowed_for_current_user: The process is no longer waiting!' Since nobody gave me any help I had to dig this out myself :-) This error happens if two programs hold more than 10 same files simultaneously open through Samba and check_access_allowed_for_current_user() gets called.
