Xen, NFS performance, rsize, wsize and MTU
We have a Xen 3.0 / Linux kernel 2.6.15 machine with the domU''s
configured for shared /home directories. One of the domU''s is an NFS
server, exporting /home, and the other domU''s all mount this.
It all functions fine, but it''s pretty slow.
I tried untarring a recent Linux kernel tarball. On the NFS server
domU this takes about 25 seconds. I didn''t

When does vif0.0 get created?
Is there some shell magic?
I''m trying to figure out how to do a similar peth1/veth1 split for eth1.

Xen on production enviroment
Hi,
Someone already use xen as production server?
For example: 3 domains (mail, proxy and web server).
And what about stability?
Regards,
Marlon

App virtualisation, not OS virtualisation
I would like to run multiple copies of an application on a PC with
multiple remote dumb clients.
It would seem to me that running Xen would be a sub-optimal solution as
I would need a copy of the OS running for every copy of the application,
but I was wondering whether a subset of Xen or Xen techniques could be used.
There are 2 barriers to running multiple applications with remote access:

bad udp cksum by dns request in domU
Hello
I use XEN 3.0 in debian sarge. I have a domU1 for routing and firewall. This
domU1 use 2 network interfaces which is on a bridge ''gate'' and the other on
bridge ''lan''.
dumU2 use one interface (eth0) on bridge ''lan''.
Then I make a ping out of domU2 to www.debian.de so I get no answer. The name
isn''t resolved. A ping to IP of

CRC Checksum problems causing issues with bridging and maybe things like nfs. Wish we had better documentation. (was Re: XenNetworking - Reason for NOARP on eth1/br1?)

Benchmarking Xen - Xeon vs Opteron. Will memory latency make a difference?
Has anyone done any performance profiling for Xen on different
platforms? I''m wondering if the big (50%+) memory latency advantage
the Opteron''s have over the Xeon''s makes a big difference in the
context of a Xen host with multiple active guest domains.
Particularly at the moment I''m considering the 2-way situation with
the SunFire v20z vs the Intel SR1400JR2.

make errors while compiling
Dear R users -
I am a first-time R user trying to compile v.0.90.0 under Caldera
OpenLinux 2.3, on a Dell PII400/128. I've encountered a problem with the
make file.
First, I run configure, which appears to complete properly. (I had to
download an updated gcc library from caldera for this to happen though.)
At the end of its run, config reports:

Memory and other settings for xen server, help needed....
Hi all,
i have a question. I''m going to setup a Xen server for a client.
It''s going to serve about 25 clients.
It''s a Athlon 64 3200+, which currently runs Debian i386-stable and xen
2.0.7
until Xen 3.0 is stable enough, and then i''m gonna replace it with
Debian amd64-stable and Xen 3.0.
The Xen dom''s consists of:

R-users,
(forgive my return adres)
I've been breaking my head why R---which i find fabulous, by the
way---does not pipe interactive output through a pager (more or less),
like it does with help(), or like GNU Octave does with arrays with more
than terminal height rows.
Maybe it is my installation (Debian/GNU Linux). Maybe it is my
configuration, but i don't think so because with

Clearing the heal-failed and split-brain status messages
Hello,
Is it possible to clear the heal-failed and split-brain status in a nice way?
I would personally like if gluster would automatically remove failed states when they are resolved ( if future reference is needed you can always look at the logs)
I'm asking because I'd like to monitor these for issues.
The monitoring script would be trivial to setup if the failed status is / can be

open ssl
I am trying to get any version of sshd working on a cobalt raq3/4(one of

going to try to install openssh, but I need to install openssl, and was
wondering if that will mess up the web server on the raqs. Any responses
are welcome.

[PATCH 1/5] um/... convert #include "linux/..." to #include <linux/...>
(untested)
There are several files that
#include "linux/file" not #include <linux/file>
#include "asm/file" not #include <asm/file>
Here's a little script that converts them:

"^[[:space:]]*\#[[:space:]]*include[[:space:]]*\"(linux|asm)/(.*)\"" * \
| xargs sed -i -e
