Re: [Xen-users] Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Backend device not found.
I am having the same problem, however on RHEL 2.6.16. I have tried setting up the bridge manually but it does not work. Can someone give some clues on what we should do to solve this problem in RHEL Thanks P. Cannot create vbd / cannot create vif
Last week, I mentioned an error I was getting, as described below. I''ve seen several mailing list posts describing a similar problem as far back as December, 2005. This seems to be a problem plaguing all Xen 3 releases (to date). > > 3. vif interface creation problem with xen unstable
I''m using vif-route as my network script. I''ve added set -x to the xen hotplug script change. I''ve also added a command to do a listing of the xenstore directory. Here''s the snippet: == ++ ip= +++ xenstore_read_default backend/vif/4/0/ip '''' +++ xenstore-read backend/vif/4/0/ip xenstore-read: couldn''t read path backend/vif/4/0/ip +++

Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working.
Hi, I got this error when starting a domU on Centos 5.1 i386, Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working. Why is this happening ? I should restart the machine to see if this still happends after a fresh network bridge. But it's somehow a production server, I would like not to restart it, if possible. No domU is currently running. I could start domUs a week ago.

Xen Starting DomainU:Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working
hi, I am trying to start a new domainU but got the error: Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working I have struggled with it for a long time. I found somebody else report this but can not find a solution. The xen version is xen-3.0 latest version. I do not have a initrd. Domain0 works fine but when I create a new domain, it always gives an error as above. Thanks,

Re: xm create: Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working. One more question.
Next question:- eth0            8000.001c2596e32b       no              peth0 pan0            8000.000000000000       no virbr0          8000.000000000000       yes Presence virbr0 in report seems strange. [SPAM] The Infamous "Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working."
When I start my domU, I get the infamous and UNINFORMATIVE! error message: "Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working." What could be the cause? There are strange things occuring. When I boot the host, I can start zero, one or two VM before it happens (most often zero), and then no other VM may be started successfully. It fails the same whether I try to boot
