Xen-2.0.7: 2.6.14 DomU and Dom0
hi, i have several small problems. Sometimes the complete Xen machine hangs and i have to reboot the whole server. I hope that these problems are kernel problems and i want to build a new kernel with 2.6.14 for Xen 2.0.7. Is that a problem? The system ist Debian Sarge. cu denny -- Sicherheit verständlich http://www.sides.de GnuPG Key

Written German Howto for Xen
hi, i''ve written a howto in german for using xen (2.0.7). I would be great, if someone could read it and tell me, whats ok, whats not. For other (german) users, its a nice help, for first time, with xen. http://www.pug.org/index.php/Xen-Installation cu denny -- Sicherheit verständlich http://www.sides.de GnuPG Key http://pgp.upb.de:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xAB7D3FE0

Basic questions
hi, i''ve installed xen 2.0.6 on a plain debian sarge system (dom0). I setup two dom1 (one mx machine, one apache machine) and i want to setup a third machine for the firewall and dsl. I''m a bit unsure. The dom0 has no ip address, do i need one? Do i need special firewall rules for this machine? I used the 2.6.11.10-xenU kernel, but it seems, that i have no iptables support

Using the 'by' function within a 'for' loop
Dear R experts, I am sorry for sending this email again. I would imagine yesterday and maybe today, have been very busy days with the release of R v 2.7.0. I join all the R users who are very gratful for your contant work and efforts, specially knowing that you are doing this for the sake of science, without gettig any compensation for that. Having written that, I decided to send the

phone as control interface(was99bottlesofbeer)
Hi All, sorry if I post again this e-mail but I think the first one was lost. I don't know if this is OT but I'm working in my spare time at a small hardware project that match to what's requested below. It's a board with Input/Output capabilities and 10Mbps ethernet interface. It has Microchip software TCP/IP stack on it. Being at a very beginning stage, you can see a little

memory question!
I have a question about memory. I have 8GB of RAM on a Dell PE 1850(usb disabled kernel, cos it gets locked up on heavy I/O). My domain0 has only 2 gigs of memory. I have 2 guest domains 512 each. Now when i try to create a 3rd guest domain of 512, xen wont let me do it. My confusion is "Is 4G the max amount of memory a domain can get/ or is 4G the max amout of cumulative memory all the

Regression of 5616?
I'm wondering if I'm seeing a regression of 5616 with 3.4.8. I'm trying to set-up pptpd with winbind, which I'm doing on two machines on Debian lenny, and I'm trying on Debian Squeeze now. The Windows client is saying "Error 778: It was not possible to verify the identity of the server." The logs say that everything is ok, and that the client is hanging up the

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Hi Laine What you have suggested sounds eminently reasonable. Thanks for your advice. I'm going to give it a shot and report back. hi! I'm trying to get zapras working in GSM csd network. Whenever a dialup call is initiated from the mobile to the * gateway the following appears in the log and zapras terminates. Bug#270019: serial/lp rules for logcheck
At the moment I've no host with which to test ppp/lp things on. If you (or anyone) could provide complete regexes, (each beginning with ^ and ending with $) I will patch the rules accordingly. If not, sending the full log lines is a good start. Thanks! -- [ Todd J. Troxell ,''`. Student, Debian GNU/Linux Developer, SysAdmin, Geek :

No adsl in dom0 - Fedora 7
Hi, I am having problems establishing an adsl connection in dom0 (but ONLY in dom0, without xen everything is ok). Following is my setup/situation: 1. Installed clean Fedora 7 (with virtualization option selected) 2. Booted with the non-xen kernel & setup adsl. Adsl connection works without any problems. 3. Rebooted with xen kernel into dom0. 4. adsl connection can no longer be activated

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Even more puzzling, I reverted back to the old configuration to confirm what I had seen and found that it works in one direction but not the other: i.e. from 192.168.0.110 to 192.168.0.120, but not the other way around. Must be something with my configuration....which I can follow up on. So, thanks again for your help. Richard On 12/3/19 11:36 AM, Richard Achmatowicz wrote: > Laine >

ntlm_auth from pppd help
Hello all, I am working on a VPN solution using FC3-2.6.12-1.1381 - openswan 2.4.4-1 - l2tpd 0.69-13 - pppd 2.4.3-5 - samba 3.0.10-1. When attempting a connection from an XP-SP2 box pppd dies without authenticating the user (see below). I have run ntlm_auth from the command line with success. What tools can I use to identify the failure? Is there an obvious error in the ppp options file?

What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Hello I have a problem with attaching VMs to a VLAN interface. Here is my setup: I have several physical hosts connected by a physical switch.  Each host has two NICs leading to the switch, which have been combined into a team, team0. Each host a has a bridge br1, which has team0 as a slave. So communication between hosts is based on the IP address of bridge br1 on each host. Up until

How to manually add a new interface to a bridge device?
Maybe my google-fu is failing me, but I have spent the past couple hours looking at how to add a vnet? Device to my KVM host running CentOS 6, and for the life of me I can't get this going. >From all my research if I want to add a device I should just do 'brctl addif br1 vnet14' if I want to add a vnet14 to bridge br1. When I do this, I get: # brctl addif br0 vnet14

Explain what asterisk.conf's "internal timing" option is
Hello, I've read in Mantis that asterisk.conf's "internal timing" option could positively impact Asterisk behaviour during faxing ( http://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=16374). Before using it, I would be very pleased to read a line or two about its use. I've read http://www.russellbryant.net/blog/2008/06/16/asterisk-16-now-with-a-new-timing-api/but I still a couple of

Kernel 2.4 in centos 4.3
Hi, I?m using centos in 4 servers that work as gateway for intranets where i work. I built a particular kernel for my needs but this kernel is 2.4.31. So i neeed to boot this kernel in centos 4.3 and centos 4.2. Can anyone help with that? I know the problem is mainly in modutils because modules cannot be loaded when kernel is loaded. Any help is very much appreciated.
