AJAX - update item forms problem
I have a table showing some records from the database. These records
should be always ordered by some datetime field. The list of items is
changed by AJAX using RJS scripts and edits are done by showing and
hiding an update form under a chosen row. Adding and updating rows works
great but my problem is when the order of items is changed after making
some AJAX datetime updates update forms of

AJAX not displaying - due to action not complete?
Hi everyone,
I''ve got a pair of AJAX actions that use slide_up and slide_down to
toggle the editing of some info. You first see a table of
entitlements for a user. Clicking "Change these" slides that up and
then a full table comes down, displaying all possible entitlements for
that user. Remove and Add links are next to the appropriate
entitlements. When finished, clicking

Possible RJS Implementation?
Hi there,
I have a question regarding updating elements of a two different divs with
one click. I have two lists. One list holds items that are entered into a
contest, and the other list holds items that aren''t currently in the
contest. One item can only be in one list at a time.
Each list has a partial that renders the items with corresponding actions.
The items in the current contest

How to apply an effect to a link_to_remote :update without using evaluate_remote_response?
Hey all,
I''ve been trying to apply a slide-down (or highlight) effect to a "New
card" link on my application. Because the item is *new* and I''m simply
updating it at the top, I can''t know what the div id is before I make
the request. link_to_remote :complete => visual_effect(:slidedown)
doesn''t do what I want it to do. My current solution is:

RJS Queue
Hi,
I''ve been able to succesfully queue page.visual_effect commands in my
RJS templates. Each command will wait to execute until the previous
command is done executing.
But I''d also like to execute a page.replace_html command AFTER the
page.visual_effect commands. I have a series of five DIVs:
div1
div2
div3
div4
div5
When the user clicks on div1, a page.visual_effect

Mocking and stubbing Rails'' association extensions
I''m having a lot of trouble stubbing out an association extension for
some view tests. Example rails code modeling a music album:
class Album < ActiveRecord::Base
has_many :songs do
def streamable
find(:all, :conditions => ''streamable = 1'')
end
end
end
So for a given Album instance (say @album), I need to be able to stub

page.visual_effect :highlight not working
I just upgraded Ruby to 1.8.4 and Rails to 1.1 and I''m in the middle of
changing my Javascript code over to the Scriptaculous helper functions.
page.visual_effect :highlight, "some_div" seems to be broken. Instead
of fading, the background color of the element stays highlighted.
page.visual_effect works for other effects, though. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Rails AJAX question, calling remote_function in a loop
I think I may be missing something here. I have a collection of people
I want to run through. For each person I want to use AJAX to make a
calculation and update the page with the results. First I tried to do
this with just links, which works fine. It looks like this
<% @eligible_players.each do |player| %>
<tr>
<td>
<%= link_to_remote( player.player_name,
