how to build Xen for 2.6.8.1?
I''m looking at: http://wiki.blitzed.org/User:grifferz/Xen#Xen_kernel_patch
and would like to get a sparse tree for 2.6.8.1 to build both the domU and
dom0 for linux kernel 2.6.8.1. Could someone point me in the
right direction?
thanks,
dan

Spam to this list
Hi,
I'm not sure what the policy of this list is and I bet everyone has a spam
filter, so nobody might have noticed, but we got spammed.
Can anyone send mail to the list or do you have to subscribe first ?

Using Dovecot-auth to return error code 450 (or other 4xx) to Postfix when user is on vacation
Hello to all members.
I am using Dovecot for 5 years, but this is my first post here.
I am aware of the various autoresponder scripts for vacation autoreplies (I am using Virtual Vacation 3.1 by Mischa Peters).
I have an issue with auto-replies - it is vulnerable to spamming with forged email address.
Forging can be prevented with several Postfix settings, which I did in the past - but was forced

Xend crashes repeatedly starting DomU - please help...
Hi, this is a repost of a previous question - since then I have tried
rebuilding my Xen0 kernel numerous times and trying different
configurations, but I haven''t yet ever got a single DomU to boot so I
really don''t even know what is supposed to happen, let alone how to
start debugging it...
Can someone please speculate on how to debug this further? It''s a

Quota, maildir, MySQL,
Hi everybody,
I am trying to work with quota. I use postfix and dovecot with a sql
backend. Below you'll find my configuration. Everything works except for
the quota part. It doesn't seem to see the quota and doesn't respond to
the sender that the client is over its quota.
versions:
postfix-2.5.20070531-mysql
dovecot-1.0.2-mysql
Thanks for the help in advance.

LDA bouncing mails after upgrade
Hello,
on my system, I have a copy of /usr/libexec/dovecot/deliver located
in /usr/libexec/dovecot/postfix-deliver/deliver (only accessible to
postfix and with SUID root permissions). If I happen to forget to
update this copy after an upgrade of dovecot, the deliver LDA bounces

Overland Arcvault 12 and sequential/random settings
My unit's firmware: library 05.03, tape d22h, shows the device as set to
random mode. But mtx -f /dev/st0 status gives an error that google says
the device is in sequential mode. dmesg|grep -i hp does reflect CentOS
thinks the device is a sequential unit.
I've tried this with Fedora 8, too, and both show the same, so it is
either an issue with CentOS/Fedora RPMs, or the version of

msan test failures
I'm seeing some test failures for unit tests for msan (check-msan)
happening in googletest, which I find weird. I'm on Arch Linux, with
r342711. Below is one type of error that I see. The full log is 416MB (!)
big. My guess is that those errors are related, but if anyone needs the
full log, I'll provide it. Here is a reduced log from the end:

Update on Xen on my hardware with nForce SATA
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello,
I complained some time ago that a the dom0-kernel (2.6.9-based) inside
Xen would wait forever when trying to detect the hard disks connected
via the S-ATA controller, which is provided by the nForce 250Gb chipset.
The problem guessed by Keir (IIRC) was that the interrupt routing didn''t
work because Xen didn''t use ACPI to do

Lockup at boot with nFroce SATA
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hello,
Is the sata_nv (based on SCSI) driver supposed to work with Xen?
When I tried to boot my dom0 kernel recompiled with the sata_nv drivers
enabled my kernel locks up, I guess when probing the first drive
connected via S-ATA. ("Screenshot" here:

Greetings.
We are testing with 1.2.9 and have found that with
mail_full_filesystem_access set to 'yes', we cannot force indexes for
folders under ~/mail to be stored in /var/dovecot/indexes/%u.
/var/dovecot/indexes/%u/.imap/INBOX/dovecot.index* is created just fine,
but everything else ends up in ~mail/.imap.
If I change mail_full_filesystem_access to 'no', then all indexes

Multiple partitions in a Guest OS
Hi,
I was trying to run a guest OS with multiple partitions. I added a line like
disk=[''phy:hda6,hda6,w'']
in the configuration file. The disk was not mounted in the host OS.
However, the kernel refuses to boot with an error message which says
"kernel not syncing... attempted to kill init... rebooting...".
When I remove that line, everything works. Is there

Problem with compiling shared C/C++ library for loading into R (Linux)
I am using the .Call interface to call c++ code from R. For that, I am
trying to create a dynamic library (mylib.so)
using "R CMD SHLIB" by linking my own c++ code and an external c++
library (blitz++).
The makefile works fine on my Mac, produces mylib.so and I am able to
call .Call() from R, but on a linux
server (I think Debian), I got the following error:

Detecting unused accounts
I'm looking for a way to figure out which accounts have not been logged in
to in over n days. It occurs to me that, perhaps, the way to do this
would be to look at the mtime on one of the dovecot-maintained files, like
'dovecot-uidlist'. Is there a particular file that would be modified on
(almost) every login, whether it be via POP or IMAP?
