xen 3.3.0 etch sources console hangs
I installed xen 3.3.0 on a etch box from sources. I just modified the
standard kernel cause of some hardware drivers. I installed xen-tools
from backports (3.9-3~bpo40+1). To create a domU ist not the problem. I
can connect via ssh and everything works fine. But when i start a domU
with "xm create host.example.tld.cfg -c" to login to console from domU
it hangs after the message

Serial console
I am trying to get a CentOS 6.3 serial console to work with IPMI SOL. I think I

10.0.0.14 is the DRAC IP address of the CentOS 6.3 box. It accepts the password

serial console & sysrq?
Hi,
is there some way to trigger sysrq from the serial console in
xenlinux? With native linux it works by sending a break + sysrq
letter, in xenlinux it doesn''t work that way though ...
cheers,
Gerd

I figured out that the system boots OK and it is possible
to login remotely. However the monitor does not start up.
Do you know how to fix it?

Xen Installation problems
Hello Xen Users,
I am facing a problem getting my installation of XEN boot up on a Red
Hat Linux Guest OS. What''s happening is that the grub loader tries to
install Xen but after a while it crashes and starts rebooting
recursively. I have tried both the entries listed below. I am using the
following entries in the grub.conf file:

Need help
Try another console like ALT-F2. See if you have a black screen login prompt. I opened a bug with RedHat for a system that when I went from 6.7 to 6.8 booted but would not start the X server. Problem was in the MACH64 driver. It is missing an external symbol that the X server requires.

[PATCH] Fixing iopl and ioperm
With this patch, x86 and x86-64 share ioport.c, fixing LTP iopl and
ioperm testcase failures (on both). We found an iopl testcase failing
even on x86 xenlinux.
Now x86-64 xenlinux should have the same results regarding the LTP
testcases (as far as we tested).

error message: INIT: Id "s0" respawning toofast:disable for 5 minutes
Guys (and Gals),
FYI I also have the *same* message here. Wonder is it is related to my
Compaq D500 Space Saver PIV 1.7 or the fact that I don't yet have a
modem card in the * box.
(Please don't shoot me, did try Google first)
Many thanks,

[PATCH 0/12] Add S3 support to Xen
Hi, all,
Attached patch set is the first support to S3 (suspend to ram)
on
Xen environment. We know that 3.0.5 is feature freeze now, and thus
this version is just for trial and review first.
X86-64 is to go (failed to compile), but we have a preliminary
support in house which is however on an old version and not very
stable yet. It''s supposed to be out with next version.

xvc0 is a xen virtual console and does not correspond directly to a physical
device that I am aware of.

Xen 3.3.x on recent dom0 kernels
Odd question I know. I am looking for source for as recent a kernel as
possible running the old style xenlinux/xenified kernel (i.e. capable of
running the xen3.3.x hypervisor). Any ideas where I can get this -
preferably in git form?
I think Stefano Stabellini had something that worked up to 2.6.36 (from
memory).
And yes, we would all prefer all our customers moved to xen4 but this is
difficult

CentOS 7 kernel console under KVM?
Is there a way to get GRUB2 and the kernel to run a "serial" console
under KVM?
I'm running a Fedora 20 desktop, with libvirt-managed VMs. When I run a
CentOS 6 VM, I can set both the boot loader and kernel up to use ttyS0
and get a console compatible with "virsh console".
When I try the same with a CentOS 7 VM, it doesn't work. If I set it to
ttyS0, I just
