Anyone running Xen on HP DL380 G5? Intel 5150 and 5160 CPU''s?
I''ve got a client demanding the use of HP DL380 G5''s, for various
historical reasons, for a server room. I''m going nuts trying to figure
out if the available CPU''s for them support VT, so I can avoid building
them a separate Windows box.
Unfortunately, the local web proxy is overloaded, so actually browsing
the JavaScript/image loaded web pages for HP is

Problem compiling 2.6.32.x pv_ops kernel, centos 5.5 i386, HP DL380 G3
Good afternoon everyone,
I''m trying to compile the xen 2.6.32.x pv_ops kernel on centos 5.5 with i386 quad core xeon system (HP DL380 G3). Having some issues during the kernel compile one of which related to intel agp so I just removed it from .config and didn''t come across it again.
This error here has got me stumped though:

HP DL380 g3
Hi,
Anybody on the list running CentOS 6.3 on the above. If so do you have HP psp 9.10 installed
and working without getting the following error?
cmahealthd[4406]: segfault at f ip 009ff06d sp bfb6fdc4 error 4 in libc-2.12.so[98e000+18c000]
Do you have any version of the psp working without error?
Thanks,

cdf function: inverse to quantile?
Is there a function in R for calculating empirical cumulative distribution
functions, i.e. the inverse of the quantile function? Perhaps in some
library? I''d hate to have to re-invent the wheel.

Putting different colors on labels in plot (hclust)
Hi All R-helpers
This is my first (but probartly not last ;-) mail to R-help, so hello to everybody.
My problem: Is there a way to give colors to the labels (sample labels) in plots for a hclust object for better visualization?
I have looked through plot, points, hclust and more but cannot find anything on label color. Anybody know if this is doable?
Best regards Jeppe

Bug in socketConnection (PR#2535)
Platform: Windows
Version: 1.6.2
When first called, socketConnection gives an error. On subsequent calls it
performs correctly. Thus the first call has the effect of "priming" the
connection. Eg

R as COM client (rather than server)
Hello all
Can R be used as a COM client (rather than as a COM server)? The following
(Splus) code shows the sort of thing I'd like to do:
pMIM <- create.ole.object("mim31.Server")
NoOutputLines <- call.ole.method(pMIM, "SendCmdLine", "show w")
for (i in 1:NoOutputLines) show(call.ole.method(pMIM,
"GetOutputLine"))
release.ole.object(pMIM)

Bug when using /dev/cciss/c0d2 as mdt/ost
I am trying to build lustre-1.6.6 against the pre-patched kernel downloaded
from SUN.
But as written in Operations manual, it creates rpms for
2.6.18-92.1.10.el5_lustrecustom. Is there a way to ask it not to append
custom as extraversion.
Running kernel is 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5_lustre.1.6.6smp.

HP DL380 G2 does not boot off local disk from PXE boot menu
Hi, all:
I can't make my HP DL380 G2 servers to boot off local disk by using
"default local" line in my PXE boot menu.
For fully automated server setups, I have configured all my DL380
servers to always do PXE boot. By manipulating the default boot option
in boot menu, I can control a server whether to install a new OS via
kickstart or just boot off local disk. This scheme works

Trouble getting a DHCP address when booting.
Hi.
I spawned a thread last week about the failure of bridged networking and
I have gotten a little further. Turns out that I _do_ have network
connectivity from inside the domains, but I cannot get the network to
come up when I boot. I have to login and start up the network manually.
E.g. after installing Debian Sarge according to the debootstrap method
outlined in the users manual, I created a

preferences in used Compaq Proliant DL380 G1 vrs DL380 G2 etc
greetings,
for those of you in the know, may i have some assistance in helping to make
better decisions in purchasing more used server toys to install CentOS on
please? :-)
in the Compaq Proliant Rackmount DL380 line, the one that looks like the
older 1850R is called a G1 meaning Generation 1 right?
and then the DL380 G2 is a redesign that is gray and just has 6 drive bays
up front correct?

[PATCH node] Provides a workaround for HP CCISS devices.
Since they do not present a block.device property via HAL, this patch
goes directly to /dev/cciss/ and pulls together any devices found there.
It ignores anything that ends with p# since those are partitions and not
block devices.
