[Bridge] device eth0 is already a member of a bridge; can't enslave it to bridge Net6
Hello,
I am working on Network-Simulation (VNUML). Our simulator uses linux bridgi=
ng to connect the UMLs.
So there is one problem:
The example is the following: There are two hosts simulating one big net.
The two hosts have connection over the external nets Net3 and Net6 (see htt=
p://www.uni-koblenz.de/~timbub/verteilteSim3.GIF), but in fact there is onl=

[Bridge] bridge doesn't broadcast properly
Hello list,
I'm setting up a virtual network consisting of several UMLs (User Mode
Linux) connected with the virtual bridge.
Communications works quite well between the host and the virtual machines.
Setup:
2 UMLs connected via tap-devices to the bridge (tap1,tap2).
The host uses the bridge-device br0 to talk to the clients.
Now I want to tcpdump the traffic between host and UML1 on virtual

Odd AGI Issue - STREAM FILE, GET DATA not playing file
Apologies if this has been brought up before, but extensive googling
and digging through my list archive didn't turn anything up.
Basically, I'm working on an AGI web app and need to read some digit
input. I'm having multiple issues with asterisk interpreting agi
commands at the moment, but I figured I'd start with this one.
when I call GET DATA or STREAM FILE I don't

Dovecot on different server than MTA
Hi,
I'm setting up our new mail system using dovecot as mailbox server. As
our goal is to have many many small redundant (virtual) servers as
components, for example a mailhub (just relaying mail) and a frontend
smtp server (just accepting or denying mail in the first place and
then forwarding it to the mailhub), etc. I want to run Dovecot on a
different server than the main MTAs. The mailbox

winbind seems to hang when the DC goes down instead of switching to the other available DC
Hai marco,
Well, this is a hard one to answer for me.
I'll give it a try. ;-)

[Bridge] Ip traffic not bridged
Hi, I am trying to set up a bridge that connects 2 user mode linux
(UML) machines. The bridge lets ARP traffic through, but not the IP
traffic.

smbadduser error
Hi List,
I have a problem authenticanting some of the users into a Windows 2000 PDC
with Samba 2.2.5.
The thing is that I can add some of the users in the PDC as Samba users but
with some of them I can't, I run the following command and I get this:
# smbadduser lrodrigu:lrodrigu
ERROR: lrodrigu Not in passwd database SKIPPING...
#
But the user 'lrodrigu' is in the passwd database

Hi
The user lrodrigh exist in the /etc/passwd ?
If the user exist in the domain, the user must be exist in unix password
DB.
I think that is the source of your problem.

Message display corrupted or missing in Netscape 7.0 and Mozilla 1.3
Hi,
a few days ago, we switched our site from pop3 to imap. We are running
about 20 users with Netscape 7.0 on a FreeBSD-4.8 Server . I installed
dovecot 0.9.99.1 via the freebsd-ports collection, which was as easy as
make install and start dovecot. Our users mailboxes are still standart
mbox format in /var/mail/(user), as it is default in Freebsd.
Now we suffer from a realy ugly problem,

work on Ubuntu 18.04 (my AD DC is on Ubuntu, but my file

Samba AD Internal DNS, Postfix & Email Relay
Is there an extra step which must be taken to get postfix
to deliver email via a relay host when the postfix machine
is pointing to an samba internal DNS?
I did a test setup using a public DNS server and it worked.
Same setup where the machine (Debian 9) is pointing to a
samba DNS doesn't work. The errors in the postfix log
seem to be DNS related.
Thanks,

[Bridge] Strange DHCP behaviour with bridging
Here is the scenario: I have one server with kernel 2.4.24 with a bridge br0
made of 2 interfaces, eth0 and tap0 (the last is an OpenVPN tunnel), and one
remote computer connetting through tap0. If I assign a static IP to the
remote computer, the bridge works perfecly (so I think the problem is not
OpenVPN-related). If I start a DHCPd on the server and I configure the remote
client to get the

winbind seems to hang when the DC goes down instead of switching to the other available DC
Hai Marco,
Yes, best is to use the "localhost" dns setup as caching/forwarder only.
All you need is for the forwarding is :
zone "your.dnsdomain.tld" {
type forward;
forwarders { IP_DC1; IP_DC2; };
};
zone "168.192.in-addr.arpa" {
type forward;
forwarders { IP_DC1; IP_DC2; };
};
If you think its still to slow, remove

No subject
I will get a smbd process started. (If this is incorrect please let me know
;)
But this morning I did a quick ps -ax on my machine and found *two* smbd -D
in the process list. But as far as I know there is no connection to the
samba server right now.
I did connect to and disconnect from the server yesterday but I would think
that that connection would have been released by now.
Can anyone

Rails with Angular and Devise
I had a non-Angular Rails app with Devise powering the authentication.
Almost all of it.
However as we are moving it to AngularJS, had a question or two about how
to integrate that with Angular.
1. What all parts of Devise can still be used?
2. What are best practices around how to maintain session in angular?
3. Also, how do I manage multiple roles(*based on 2 different models*,

AFS and tokenforwarding
For some reasons the afs tokenforwarding stuff has changed
siginificantly from v 2.9p2 to 2.9.9p2.
This makes it impossible to use public key authenticication in a
standart AFS environment.
I don't know the reasons for these changes.
In any case attached is a patch which restores the old behaviour.

Problem and Patch: Multiple keys in ssh.com V2 agent
Hello!
I recently discoverd a problem with ssh.com's ssh-agent2 and OpenSSH:
If I have more than one key in my agent, then the agent tries to
authenticicate me with every one of them at the OpenSSH server; but none
of them is a valid key for that server. The Problem is that the Server
increments the authctxt->attempt at every of that tries. So even if you
want to login with a password at
