"no space left on device" related to directory limit
Hello, We have a 3-node cluster setup with ocfs2. Since friday one of the nodes went down and would not become clustermember after a reboot because it was unable to write to the ocfs2 filesystem. Message: no space left on device. There is plenty of diskspace though. No problem whatsoever to create a file / directory on the filesystem using one of the other nodes. Today one of the remaining

Reproducing fragmentation and out of space error
Recently I ran into a situation where an ocfs2 (1.4) volume was reporting it was out of space when it was not. Deleting some files helped short term but the problem quickly comes back. I believe this is due to the fragmentation bug that I have seen references to in the mailing list archive. I am trying to reproduce the problem on a test system so that I can validate that upgrading to 1.6

[PATCH] ocfs2: Adjust rightmost path in ocfs2_add_branch.
In ocfs2_add_branch, we use the rightmost rec of the leaf extent block to generate the e_cpos for the new added branch. In the most case, it is OK but if there is a gap between the the root(or branch) 's rightmost rec and the leaf, it will cause kernel panic if we insert some clusters in it. The message is something like: (7445,1):ocfs2_insert_at_leaf:3775 ERROR: bug expression:

[PATCH 0/2] ocfs2: Adjust rightmost path in ocfs2_add_branch.v2
Hi Mark/Joel, This is the v2 of bug fix for ocfs2_add_branch. Modification from V1 to V2: 1. Create a patch which return EROFS instead of BUG in ocfs2_insert_at_leaf. 2. Use ocfs2_adjust_rightmost_records to change the root and extent blocks in the rightmost path. Regards, Tao

60% full and writes fail..
I have a setup with lot's of small files (Maildir), in 4 different volumes and for some reason the volumes are full when they reach 60% usage (as reported by df ). This was ofcourse a bit of a supprise for me .. lots of failed writes, bounced messages and very angry customers. Has anybody on this list seen this before (not the angry customers ;-) ? [RFC] metadata alloc fix in machines which has PAGE_SIZE > CLUSTER_SIZE
Hi Mark/Joel, I meet with some meta allocation bugs when I implement reflink these days. And after some investigation, I think we should have the same problem when we have PAGE_SIZE > CLUSTER_SIZE. So I create a scenario today in one ppc box and try. the box panic as I expected. ;) The scenario is that: Create a file with the disk layout like this(with bs=512, and cs=4K). debugfs: stat

[PATCH 0/2] Two b-tree bug fixes.
Hi Mark/Joel, These are 2 bug fix for b-tree. Please review. I have sent out the first one last week, but it was based on cacheme. So resend it. Now it bases on joel's fixes branch. The second one is another b-tree rotation bug. I guess the reason why we never meet with it is that no one has ever used b-tree like reflink before. ;) Regards, Tao

colour of label points on a boxplot
Hi all, I have 6 datasets(dataframes Assem_ContigsLen7 through all_ContigsLen12) containing 3 columns (contig_id, contig_length, read_count). Each dataset is composed of 3 types of contigs (assemblies of genomic fragments), 1- all Bacterial fragments, 2 - all Viral fragments, 3 - mixed fragments. I identified the type of contig through a merge with another table with just contig_id and

[PATCH 05/28] media/v4l2: remove V4L2-FLAG-MEMORY-NON-CONSISTENT
Hi Christoph, On Wed, Aug 19, 2020 at 8:56 AM Christoph Hellwig <hch at lst.de> wrote: > > The V4L2-FLAG-MEMORY-NON-CONSISTENT flag is entirely unused, Could you explain what makes you think it's unused? It's a feature of the UAPI generally supported by the videobuf2 framework and relied on by Chromium OS to get any kind of reasonable performance when accessing V4L2 buffers

RHEL 3 and OCFS 1.0.9-12 / 1.0.11-1
Is the following statement still valid for either OCFS 1.0.9-12 or OCFS 1.0.11-1? The following is from one of the questions put forward by Derek Suzuki on Ocfs-users "A couple more minor questions about OCFS and RHEL3" > Next, I saw a Metalink thread which suggests that async I/O is not > supported on OCFS with RHAS 2.1. It doesn't say anything about RHEL3. > We've

Hi David, Configured as you mention, and prior with the other tweaks I had in the first place, Im getting the same results, which is "FSUTIL utility requires a Local NTFS Volume", and mapping it. I then went to contig, `contig -n X:\share\sparesefile 0`, as well as a few other size. Maybe im using it wrong, but some testing on contig has only "Access is denied" when I try

RHE L3 -- OCFS 1.0.9-12 and 1.0.12
Running database in ASYNC mode in RHEL 3 has a potential risk of redo logs failure due to some short io's. A note from http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs/dist/files/RedHat/RHEL3/i386/README.txt says that the above mentioned problem is fixed in OCFS 1.0.9-12 "RELEASE 1.0.9-12 Fixes a potential corruption with large, aligned, direct I/Os, for example Oracle redo logs or direct path SQL

Joint significance of more regressors in summary
Dear All, I was wondering if it is possible to generate a regression summary (it does not matter at this stage if from an lm or for example a glm estimate) in which to obtain the joint significance of a set of regressors? Examples could be looking at the joint significance level of a polynomial, or of a set of exogenous variables of which is of interest the linear combination suggested by the

Slow I/O on ocfs2 file system
Hello, I have found, that ocfs2 is very slow when doing I/O operation without cache. See a simple test: ng-vvv1:~# dd if=/data/verejna/dd-1G bs=1k | dd of=/dev/null 1048576+0 records in 1048576+0 records out 1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 395.183 s, 2.7 MB/s 2097152+0 records in 2097152+0 records out 1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 395.184 s, 2.7 MB/s The underlying block device is quite

Given for example c(1, 1, 2, 3, 2, 4, 5, 6, 4) I would like to get: FALSE FALSE TRUE FALSE TRUE TRUE FALSE FALSE TRUE In fact I need to check this on the columns of a matrix! I can do that of couse with loops but is there any function already available? Thanks

Calculating volume size from superblock
Another simple question. How do I calculate the size of the volume from the superblock? Do I just use the two fields: u_int32_t s_blocksize_bits; /* Blocksize for this fs */ u_int32_t s_clustersize_bits; /* Clustersize for this fs */ What is the formula to use? Thanks, John

A couple more minor questions about OCFS and RHE L3
Sort of a followup... We've been running OCFS in sync mode for a little over a month now, and it has worked reasonably well. Performance is still a bit spotty, but we're told that the next kernel update for RHEL3 should improve the situation. We might eventually move to Polyserve's cluster filesystem for its multipathing capability and potentially better performance, but at least we

Help me replace a for loop with an "apply" function
...if that is possible My task is to find the longest streak of continuous days a user participated in a game. Instead of writing an sql function, I chose to use the R's rle function, to get the longest streaks and then update my db table with the results. [PATCH] ocfs2: fix non-auto defrag path not working issue
This commit fixes three issues on non-auto defrag path (defragfs.ocfs2 doesn't set OCFS2_MOVE_EXT_FL_AUTO_DEFRAG on range.me_flags): - For ocfs2_find_victim_alloc_group(), old code forgot enlarge bitmap range for global_bitmap case. Old code could generate negative vict_bit. - For ocfs2_probe_alloc_group(), old code forgot back off move_len when finding enough bitmap space. Old code has
