There are 3 nodes in the cluster ocfs2-1.4.1 rhel 5.2. Versions, uname's

other diagnostics.
The lock up happened when we were restarting a java application that

Apostrophe display issue in view file.
Hi folks,
I have some user name with Apostrophe, where these names are displayed
in view files with some unwanted characters instead of Apostrophe.
For example,
Bottom''s Profile page is the original string and it is displaying in
browser like this.
Bottomn’s Profile page.
Can any one suggest how to overcome this, or how to identify this
special character.

hang with fsdlm
Using fsdlm/ocfs2_controld.cman, I've rerun the test I've been having problems
with on 2.6.30-rc1. After running for several minutes in the same directory
on three nodes, the test hangs, and I collect the following information:

Mongrel dying daily with Ruby 1.8.5
Dear ALL,
I saw this in article from mongrel faq,
Q: Mongrel stops working if it''s left alone for a long time.
If you find that Mongrel stops working after a long idle time and you''re
using MySQL then you''re hitting a bug in the MySQL driver that doesn''t
properly timeout connections. What happens is the MySQL *server* side of the
connection times out and

Slow performance
Hello again,
We have hit some performance problem today in one of our clusters. The
performance suddenly drop from the normal performance (about
30Mbytes/s), read/write, to a few Kbytes/s (about 200Kbytes/s), read
only, for a while, and as sudden as it started, it backs to the normal
read/write performance, cycling randomly. When the "read only" occurs
on one node, the other shows only

Indexing Mail faster
Hi,
I am trying to get faster search results on our webmail client(Roundcube).
Besides using Lucene for FTS are there other options?
Would having all mails indexed give fast results?
Currently the time it takes to search 25,000mails is 4mins. If indexed how
much faster are we looking at?
Really appreciate if someone could advise about this.
Thanks

Is ext3 kernel nfsd friendly?
This is prompted by two issues: Neil Brown on the
NFS list asking for file systems that users
want to export via NFS and the problems that
the other journaling filesystem reiserfs has with
knfsd.
As far as I understand reiserfs does not work with
knfsd so a patch is needed for the fs driver
to provide a callback to knfsd to allow the
fs driver to do some clever tricks with inodes. Neil's

rhel nfs bug with 5.5 - nfsd: blocked for more then 120 sec
Hi all,
I ran into this bug on my NFS server which is serving an XFS fs;
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=616833
It was suggested using bind mounts.
My current fstab on my server is;
/dev/sdc1 /SHARE xfs defaults,noatime,nodiratime,logbufs=8,uquota 1 2
Unsure how to integrate bind mounts in this scheme to see if I can
avoid this bug until it is fixed.
Any ideas?

smbd/nfsd interaction, slowness and increasing performance questions
Hello,
I am looking for some more information on how to make smbd and nfsd play
nicely together in regards to file locking as well as some help
understanding the mechanics of the smbd process and how to clean up
stale connections.
Setup: centos 5, newest smbd and nfsd available, XFS filesystems (for
nice Windows ACL usage)
Certain shares must be shared to both user bases, cifs cannot be

samba and a kernel oops on nfsd
Sorry to parachute in here with an emergency question but I do have a
big problem and I want to eliminate samba as a possibility. I have a
redhat 7.2
server that has been solid until last Wed. On that day I had installed
samba
on it from the redhat rpms. That night it went down with a kernel oops
on nfsd.
I shutdown samba but left it installed.
It has gone down again today but the messages

With a current version of Dovecot a search is pretty fast _without_ using external indexes. I have a view defined (virtual plugin) with around 22.000 messages in it, and searching the full view only takes 2.5

round giving different results on Windows and Mac
Dear all,
I have been running some tests of my package RSiena on different
platforms and trying to reconcile the results.
With Mac, the commands
options(digits=4)
round(1.81652, digits=4)
print 1.817
With Windows, the same commands print 1.816
I am not bothered which answer I get, but it would be nice if they were
the same. A linux box agreed with the Mac.
