OCFS2 Node restart
Hi,
I have 6 nodes cluster with OCFS2 1.4.2 running on vmware virtual system
RedHat 5.2 (2.6.18-128.1.16.el5) 64bit.
Out of 6 nodes two nodes alf0 and alf3 reboot automatically, I enabled
remote logging for kernel, and here is log.
I noticed VM become non-response and suddenly reboots. I am running Alfresco
(documents sharing) application all nodes are accessing common share on
OCFS.

NIC Bonding
Hi,
I have 2 NIC and wants to use both NIC for load balancing and fault
tolerance.
- Quick question if NIC bonding in Redhat is supported by OCFS2?
- If yes which mode bonding is supported?
Thanks

Encoding problem
I am using speex for encoding and decoding speech files in a speech
synthesis program. I am using concatenative approach for speech synthesis
using diphones (small speech chunks) as basic unit.
Now in my application, the order of diphones to be joined after decoding is
determined at runtime.
Therefore I have to encode each diphone independent of others.
I find out that when I encode diphones

moving a project from windows to linux
How easy is it to do this. Is it simply a case of copying the project
directory over to the linux directory or does one have to create a new
project in the linux system and copy paste (due to the wonders of rails
magic)???

[PATCH 0/3] ocfs2: Inode Allocation Strategy Improvement.v2
Changelog from V1 to V2:
1. Modify some codes according to Mark's advice.
2. Attach some test statistics in the commit log of patch 3 and in
this e-mail also. See below.
Hi all,
In ocfs2, when we create a fresh file system and create inodes in it,
they are contiguous and good for readdir+stat. While if we delete all
the inodes and created again, the new inodes will get spread out and

user-space heartbeat ptaches from suse
Hi everyone.
Does anyone know why the user-space heartbeat (linux-ha) patches
from SuSE / Novell are not commited to the mainline ocfs2 source
tree? Or are they?
Is there an easy way (which does not break the distros package
management) to apply these?
Thanks,
Christian

[PATCH 1/3] ocfs2: Optimize inode allocation by remembering last group.
In ocfs2, the inode block search looks for the "emptiest" inode
group to allocate from. So if an inode alloc file has many equally
(or almost equally) empty groups, new inodes will tend to get
spread out amongst them, which in turn can put them all over the
disk. This is undesirable because directory operations on conceptually
"nearby" inodes force a large number of seeks.
So

Hello,
We just experienced a hang that looks superficially very similar to
http://www.mail-archive.com/ocfs2-users at oss.oracle.com/msg02359.html
There are 3 nodes in the cluster ocfs2-1.4.1 rhel 5.2. Versions, uname's

other diagnostics.
The lock up happened when we were restarting a java application that

[PATCH 0/3] ocfs2-1.4: Backport inode alloc from mainline.
Hi all,
this patch set are the backport of inode alloc improvement from
mainline to ocfs2-1.4.
the patches are almost the same excpet one thing:
Joel has added JBD2 support to ocfs2, so he has added "max_blocks" to
alloc_context and add a new function
"ocfs2_reserve_clusters_with_limit". We don't have that in ocfs2-1.4. So
there are some great difference in patch 2.
