mount.ocfs2: Transport endpoint is not connected while mounting
Hi All, I have a cluster of four nodes and one will not join the cluster. I have two IPs on each node, one external and one internal. I have tried changing around the IPs in the /etc/ocfs2/cluster.conf and that helped - at least I recovered three of the machines. Any suggestions on where else to look? OCFS2 v1.4 hangs
I have four database servers in a high-availability, load-balancing configuration. Each machine has a mount to a common data source which is an OCFS2 v1.4 file-system. While working on three of the servers, I restarted the IP network and found after-wards the fourth machine hung. I could not reboot and could not unmount the ocfs2 partitions. I am pretty sure this was all caused by my taking down

Heartbeat Timeout Threshold
I've been using OCFS2 on a 3 way Centos 5.2 Xen cluster for a while now using it to share the VM disk images. In this way I can have live and transparent VM migration. I'd been having intermittent (every 2-3 weeks) incidents where a server would self fence. After configuring netconsole I managed to see that the fencing was due to a heartbeat threshold timeout so I have now increased

R equiv to proc gremove in maps package
Is there an R equivalent to SAS's proc gremove? You would use this procedure to combine the units on an existing map, for example to build a map of Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) from the [US] counties dataset where the internal boundries surround the MSAs (which are groups of counties) rather than the individual counties. I can imagine the mechanism would be to find and erase the

Weird problem with trying to change a variable
I have a dataframe called cvar, with two variables (among many others) called MSA and ACTUP. Both are numeric. This was working fine. Then I found out that for two MSAs, ACTUP should be 1, not 0. so I tried cvar$ACTUP[cvar$MSA == 6840] <- 1 cvar$ACTUP[cvar$MSA == 5360] <- 1 but when I try table(cvar$MSA, cvar$ACTUP) the level of ACTUP for those two MSAs has not changed, and is still

OCFS2 and Xen - aio error -14
I've configured a text Xen system using ocfs2 1.4.1 as the shared filesystem to enable migration. So far the file based xen disk sharing is working well. Yesterday I tried to do a "xm save vm /ocfs2/vm.save" and I keep getting the following message: __ocfs2_file_aio_write:2185 ERROR: status = -14 The file created is only 9113 bytes long where it should be about 2 GB i.e.

Shared Storage Options
Hello all. I would like to canvas some opinions on options for shared storage in a Xen cluster. So far I've experimented with using iSCSI and clvm which mixed success. The primary concern I have with both of these options is that there seems to be no obvious way to ensure exclusive access to the LUN/device to the VM I want to run. On a couple of occasions during my playing I've

Recategorizing Nominal variable
Hello, I would like to take a data set of doctors, and recategorize them into numbers. For example, John Doe would be assigned as 1 Jane Doe would be assigned as 2 Does anyone know how to do this in R? It seems quite easy, yet I cannot find the code. Thank you, Michael Leitson Research Intern MSAS Candidate Michael.Leitson@wellstar.org

Unable to Install Ocfs2 in Oracle Linux 5 Machine.
Hi, I was trying to install OCFS 2 in my Oracle Linux 5 Machine. I created a mount point for cluster file system: # mkdir /u02 My Kernel version is : # uname -r 2.6.18-308.4.1.0.1.el5xen I am downloading the appropriate version of the kernel module from this location: https://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs2/files/RedHat/RHEL5/x86_64/1.4.10-1/2.6.18-308.4.1.el5/ When I am trying to execute

VM node won't talk to host
I am trying to mount the same partition from a KVM ubuntu 8.04.1 virtual machine and on an ubuntu 8.04.1 host server. I am able to mount the partition just on fine on two ubuntu host servers, they both talk to each other. The logs on both servers show the other machine mounting and unmounting the drive. However, when I mount the drive in the KVM VM I get no communication to the host

How to force iscsi to see the new LUN size
Hi, I increased the size of one of the LUNs and on CentOS 5.4 if I restart iscsi (`service iscsi restart`) I'll see the the new size but this will disconnect all other LUNs. I'm hoping that there is isciadm or some other command that will force iscsi to rediscover the LUNs but I can't seem to be able to come up with one. Resize2fs says that there is nothing to be done. I'm

I increased the size of both the luns by x gig and offlined/online the individual luns in the zpool, also tried an export/import of the zpool, but i am unable to see the increased size....what would i need to do to see the increased size?...or is it not possible yet? Multiple auth client sockets
I use two seperate Postfix instances as MSAs (so that different policies are simpler to configure), and both of them require Dovecot SASL support. Since Postfix' smtpd is chrooted (at least in the Debian package), the client socket needs to be somewhere under the instance's queue_directory. This means I need two different auth client socket paths. When I simply specify two "client {

Xen kickstart and virt-manager
Hi again. I'm pleased to say that my experimentation with ocfs2 has been very successful and I'm considering doing some real work with it. My current question is related to virt-manager and the use of kickstart to install paravirtualised domU's. I'm happily doing fully-virtualised installs with this tool but due to poor network performance I thought it time to do some

Problems with OCFSTOOL after LUN Maintenance
In installing 10g\RAC we hit an issue that has been indentified as a bug with CRS where the cluster locking files cannot be implemented under OCFS. Supposedly they work fine when implemented as Raw Devices. We needed to reclaim some space from existing LUN's to create the raw devices as we had expected to able to put all Oracle related files under OCFS (Yes, we belived the hype). This

Mounting LUNs from a SAN array - LUN mappings to devices in /dev/ - are they static?
Hi All :) I am currently involved in a project in which there is a SAN array (Sun Storagetek 2540) which exports LUNs for some servers with Centos 5.2 x86. I will be performing a migration to Centos 5.9 x86_64 in some time and am gathering needed info now :) I am trying to find the place in the OS where there is the information about LUN mappings to /dev/ devices. For example on array level I
