I am not followng head closely but may it be that the current head still
doesn't support amd64 proper:

segmentation fault
greetings,
running Centos 4.1 i386 on a poweredge 1800, will be trying x86_64
tomorrow since apparently the processors are EM64. anyhow, I'm having
issues with this unit producing segmentation faults on practically
everything. this is not an issue just with Centos 4.x, but also RHEL
3. so I resorted to RH9, but had other issues with hardware drivers.
Today, I installed OS and

DS3 (T3) Card for Asterisk?
Is there a DS# (T3) card that will work with asterisk? OR a card that
supports more that 4 T1's per card?

Post-Win2k3 Upgrade rsync+ssh Permissions Problem
Hi all. OK, so I have a mostly Solaris infrastructure with a group of
Windows 2000 server boxes. I installed Cygwin rsync/ssh on them and have
been using it to keep Web images up to date by pushing them from a central
server thus:
/usr/local/bin/rsync -e ssh -vrtz --delete
--rsync-path=c:/cygwin/bin/rsync.exe /webnfs/webfiles/images/
winserver:d:/webfiles/images
This sync runs as the UNIX user

problem getting ulogd and shorewall working on debian
I''m trying to get Shorewall to use ulogd for logging, but I''m not
seeing any logging in either the file I set up for logs, nor in
/var/log/messages (where the logs used to be).
I''m running a stock Debian 3.0 woody system, with a custom 2.4.21
kernel. I used all the settings as described on shorewall.net when
configuring the kernel. ulogd (0.97-1) and shorewall

Problems with eepro100 or BroadCom NetXtreme and s yslinux 2.04
This sounds kind of like what happened with me for earlier attempts at using
syslinux. Skip using HPA's tools entirely and dd if=vmlinuz of=/dev/fd0
bs=1440k count=1 and make sure that the kernel runs from a floppy disk.
There'll be no file system or anything, but you'll make sure that your
kernel isn't faulty. If it doesn't execute, then you can avoid the

T3 Mux and Asterisk Question
I have a T3 coming from my carrier. From there I want to use an Adtran
mx2800 T1 Mux to break the T3 into 28 T1/PRI which feed into seven quad
T1/PRI equipped servers.
Everything seems very straight forward with the exception of the D
channels for the T1/PRI.
I am not very familiar with large circuits such as T3s. I know that I
can use one D channel per set of quad port on each server. So if

rsync mechanics question
Hey All,
I've been using rsync (2.6.9) to migrate a 90g message store volume and
I'm running into some interesting results. I have two FC storage arrays
attached to a Sunfire V280R, running Solaris 8. My 100gig volume is on a
Sun StoreEdge 3510, and my new 500gig partition is on an HP EVA.
I used the syntax: rsync -a --stats --delete $SRC/$dir/ $DST/$dir
At present time, the

Width of text displayed in R
All,
I think this is pretty basic but I couldn't find the answer in any
source.
I have just built my own R for Linux (amd 64). It runs well, but R
thinks that it only has 80 characters or so of screen width. I log on
with Putty to the box and can stretch it as large as I want.
Is there a simple way to tell R to use more screen width when
displaying?

Problems with eepro100 or BroadCom NetXtreme and syslinux 2.04
Hi all!
We use pxelinux for booting a diskless Linux from whitch we install all
our systems.
But we discovered some Problems:
- With v1.75 the Kernel is fetched from the TFTP-Server with no problem,
but it gets not started on Broadcom NetXtreme with newer PXE-Bioses
- With v2.04, pxelinux even seems not to be able to fetch the kernel
from the TFTP-Server. This affects also Intel's

PXELINUX [BIOS] 6.02 - Upgrade to 6.02 from 4.07 introduces local boot regression
Hello All, this is my first post so I'll try to be as verbose as possible.
We have a PXE deployment server serving mostly fujitsu RX300 rack mount
servers with Intel 82575EB Gigabit Ethernet Controllers onboard. I recently
upgraded from version 4.07 to version 6.02 and, without making any edits to
my default menu, immediately noticed a regression. I use vesamenu.c32 to

samba3 to Win 2003, signing mandatory but disabled?
I am trying to get samba working again, since my employer upgraded to a
Windows Server 2003.
I have installed samba-3.0.2a-1_rh9.i386.rpm to my Linux (RedHat 9) system.
I can connect to other machines in my domain, read/write files, etc. When I
try smbmount on the Windows server, I get this error:

Logon script with Administrator rights
I am using a .bat logon script (the same for all users) and it avoids that I
have to configure each user manually. But now I have to run a command that
requires administrator rights on two files, and the command I write in the
.bat file doesn't work.
Do you know how to run the logon script as the local machine Administrator?
After all, the logon script is on the server and only me can

RODBC and 64 bit
Hi all,
I was quite succesfully working with the RODB package on a 32 bit linux
box to connect to a MSSQL Server via the freeTSL driver. After changing
to a 64 bit environment I ran into some segmentation faults using
function sqlUpdate on large database operations (the actual seg faults
occured in the call to the C function ODBCUpdate).
I just briefly looked into the code and found some extensive
