AIC questions
In accordance with Venables and Ripley, SAS documentation and other sources AIC with sigma^2 unknown is calculated as: AIC = -2LL + 2* #parameters = n log(RSS/n) + 2p For the fitness data: (http://support.sas.com/ctx/samples/index.jsp?sid=927), SAS gets an AIC of 64.534 with model oxygen = runtime. (SAS STAT User's Guide. Chapter 61. pp 3956, the REG Procedure). This value of AIC accords

do we support zonepath on UFS formated ZFS volume
Hi, ZFS experts, From ZFS release notes, " Solaris 10 6/06 and Solaris 10 11/06: Do Not Place the Root File Systemof a Non-Global Zone on ZFS. The zonepath of a non-global zone should not reside on ZFS for this release. This action might result in patching problems and possibly prevent the system from being upgraded to a later Solaris 10 update release." So my question is, do we

how can I create formated reports?
Hi, I would like to create reports from some of the views of my application. By "report" I mean a file formatted so that it can be easily saved and printed. To make myself just even more clear, let''s imagine I have an application that handles information about movies. When I display a movie, it shows in an html page with the name, category, actors and reviews of this movie.

formated output
Hi all; I need to create ASCII files as output from R and I'm using sink(), cat(), and paste() for this. My problem is that the ASCII files hace several columns, and I would like to know if intermediate columns (the second one for example) could be alineated to the right. My values are integer ranging from 1 to 1000. Thanks a lot. Best regards, Javier

problem of fixed-formated output using sprintf
Dear R users: I'm trying to generate a output file with fixed format using function "sprintf" in R. However, the execution time in R is very long even the toy data (smaller size df) seems to work fine. The syntax that I used is as follows: df.fmt <- sprintf("%2s%2s%2.4f", df$v1, df$v2, df$v3) write.table(df.fmt, output.name,...) The actual dataset is a df with the

deleted fat32, added linux, formated ext3 ... mount detects as fat and I get FS-panic
Hi... I decided to delete my fat32 partition (sda1, with win2k on it). I did that with fdisk and added a linux partition, then formated it with "mkfs -t ext3 /dev/sda1" ... Everything seemed to work fine... I can even mount it with "mount -t ext3 /dev/sda1 /mnt" ... but there seem to be some fat32 rubbish left because when I do "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt" it seems to

abline(v= x) in plot with time formated xaxis not working
Hi, I try to create a vertical line in my plot, which has a xaxis comprising time formated data. This is what I tried: ---------------- y<-152833 x<-strptime(y, format="%H%M%S") abline(v=x, col="red") ---------------- for some reason, it doesn't work and no error msg is displayed... I hope someone can tell me what I do wrong, or maybe an alternative. Thanks
