[PATCH] ocfs2: Plugs race between the dc thread and an unlock ast message
This patch plugs a race between the downconvert thread and an unlock ast message. Specifically, after the downconvert worker has done its task, the dc thread needs to check whether an unlock ast made the downconvert moot. dlm stress test hangs OCFS2
This email is also sent to cluster-devel at redhat.com. Since this issue is about both dlm and ocfs2, I send the email here to look for help from upstream. This is an already known issue. on ocfs2 with user space cluster stack, run the test script from http://people.redhat.com/~teigland/make_panic on the mounted ocfs2 volume from 2 nodes simultaneously, the access to ocfs2 volume on both nodes

dlmglue fixes
David, So here are the two patches. Remove all patches that you have and apply these. The first one is straight forward. The second one will hopefully fix the livelock issue you have been encountering. People reviewing the patches should note that the second one is slightly different than the one I posted earlier. It removes the BUG_ON in the if condition where we jump to update_holders. The

[git patches] ocfs2 and configfs updates
These patches comprise the bulk of our outstanding changes for Ocfs2 and Configfs. Configfs gets some lockdep updates, and we remove it's EXPERIMENTAL tag as things have been quite stable for some time now. Ocfs2 gets fixes that made it in too late for 2.6.24, and several new features. The most interesting are listed below: We've been on the path to removing the "vote"

[PATCH] ocfs2: return f_fsid info in ocfs2_statfs(), v4
Currently f_fsid of struct kstatfs returned from ocfs2_statfs() is undefined (vfs layer fills 0 as default). Since in some conditions, f_fsid value might be used as (f_fsid, ino) pair to uniquely identify a file, ocfs2 should return a unique defined f_fsid value from ocfs2_statfs(). Because uuid_str is identified no mater on big or litlle endian machine, it's also endian consistent to use

[PATCH] ocfs2: llseek requires to ocfs2 inode lock for the file in SEEK_END
llseek requires ocfs2 inode lock for updating the file size in SEEK_END. because the file size maybe update on another node. if it not . after call llseek in SEEK_END. the position is old. this bug can be reproduce the following scenario: at first ,we dd a test fileA,the file size is 10k. on NodeA: --------- 1) open the test fileA, lseek the end of file. and print the position. 2) close the test

[PATCH 1/3] ocfs2: Add missing iput() during error handling in ocfs2_dentry_attach_lock()
Mainline commit a5a0a630922a2f6a774b6dac19f70cb5abd86bb0 In ocfs2_dentry_attach_lock(), if unable to get the dentry lock, we need to call iput(inode) because a failure here means no d_instantiate(), which means the normally matching iput() will not be called during dput(dentry). This patch fixes the oops that accompanies the following message: (3996,1):dlm_empty_lockres:2708 ERROR: lockres

[PATCH] ocfs2: unlock rw lock if inode lock failed
In ocfs2_file_aio_write, it does ocfs2_rw_lock first and then ocfs2_inode_lock. But if ocfs2_inode_lock failed, it goes to out_sems without unlocking rw lock. This will cause a bug in ocfs2_lock_res_free when testing res->l_ex_holders, which is increased in __ocfs2_cluster_lock and decreased in __ocfs2_cluster_unlock. [PATCH 1/4] ocfs2/dlm: Retract fix for race between purge and migrate
Mainline commit d4f7e650e55af6b235871126f747da88600e8040 attempts to delay the dlm_thread from sending the drop ref message if the lockres is being migrated. The problem is that we make the dlm_thread wait for the migration to complete. This causes a deadlock as dlm_thread also participates in the lockres migration process. A better fix for the original oss bugzilla#1012 is in testing.

ocfs2 fencing problem
Hi, Sunil or Tao, I have a 4 nodes OCFS2 cluster running OCFS2 1.2.8 on SuSE 9 SP4. When I tried to do failover testing (shutting down one node), the whole cluster hung (I can not even login to any server in the cluster). I have to bring all of them up and then be able to use the system. What kind of behavior is it? Is it the fence of OCFS2? Below is my configuration. aopcer13:~ #

[PATCH 1/1] ocfs2/cluster: Make fence method configurable
By default, o2cb fences the box by calling emergency_restart(). While this scheme works well in production, it comes in the way during testing as it does not let the tester take stack/core dumps for analysis. This patch allows user to dynamically change the fence method to panic() by: # echo "panic" > /sys/kernel/config/cluster/<clustername>/fence_method Signed-off-by: Sunil
