Scheduled workers only run once unless you call self.delete inside the worker
I had a worker scheduled to run every minute with backgroundrb_schedules.yml: ebay_runner: :class: :ebay_auction_worker :job_key: :ebay_auction_runner :trigger_type: :cron_trigger :trigger_args: 0 * * * * * * This worker posts an auction to eBay from a queue of auctions every minute. I was having a problem where the worker would run ok the first time, but never any subsequent minutes

Cannot start workers in production mode
I have a job that I am starting from a Rails controller in production mode using MiddleMan: MiddleMan.new_worker(:class => :import_ccg_category_worker, :args => { :category_id => @category.id, :remote_category_id => params[:remote_category_id], :description => "Importing CCG products for #{@ category.name}" }) Both of the category ID variables are just basic integers. simple story, extract link
hi, I just started fooling around with story runner, thought I''d start with a dead simple scenario: The first thing I do when describing a site to someone is go to the home page, and begin exploring public pages from there. So, that seems like a good first story to spec out. And I''d really like to extract the actual link from the rendered page (rather than just

Having two columns in a model point to another table
Hey, I''m kind of new to Rails, and would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction on this. I have a "users" table in my application, and I wanted to set up a "debts" table, to store debts between users. My current table structure for "debts" is CREATE TABLE debts ( id int not null auto_increment, owed_user_id int not null, # User

Vizufon Video Phone
So I won one of these on ebay, in the auction it says it has the RJ45 ports on it but it doesn't :( If I were to get an analog adapter would I be able to use the video portion of this or am I SOL? The auction requires me to pay for shipping back, so I end up losing money unless I sell it on my own. Or has anyone hacked these to work on enet?

Test for trend?
Hello R community, I would like to test for learning effects by subjects in my experiment. Each subject participates in six consecutive auction rounds of the same treatment. The response variable is the efficiency of an auction outcome measured by a real number. Since the efficiency increases over the six rounds, I suppose that subjects learn about the rules of the auction institution, but I

Use of R in C#
I have a C# program that requires the run of a logistic regression. I have downloaded the R 2.11 package, and have added the following references to my code: STATCONNECTORCLNTLib; StatConnectorCommonLib; STATCONNECTORSRVLib; In my code I have: StatConnector scs = new STATCONNECTORSRVLib.StatConnectorClass(); scs.Init("R"); The init step returns the below error which seems to indicate

quantile regression
Dear all, I am a new user in r and I am facing some problems with the quantile regression specification. I have two matrix (mresultb and mresultx) with nrow=1000 and ncol=nsim, where I specify (let's say) nsim=10. Hence, the columns in my matrix represents each simulation of a determined variable. I need to regress each column of mresultb on mresultx. My codes are the following:

ActiveRecord 2.1 Migration support
Hi all, I am in the process of adding Migration support to the Ingres ActiveRecord adapter and have run in to a problem. During the call to create_table the Ingres adapter some how causes ruby to blow the stack and coredump/segv. I have tracked down the problem down to "add_column_options!" in "lib/active_record/connection_adapters/abstract/schema_statements.rb".

XRay TID mismatch when forking
Hello, There seems to be a bug with the value of the thread ID (TID) that is generated by XRay when calling fork(). The value of the TID of the child has the same TID as its parent (this is seen in the “thread: “ field of the YAML output produced by the llvm-xray tool). This is a problem as the trace generated contains the same TID for the parent and children processes, making it difficult to

png output in batch
I'm trying to use R in a cgi script to produce graphics files in png format, and I'm having a problem. My shell command line looks like this: R </usr/dfs/auction/eligibility.R --no-save >/tmp/R.out and the line in the R script looks like this: png ("foo.png", pointsize=18) If I run outside the cgi context, it runs great. When run as in a cgi script, I get this error

worker starting twice
Hi gang, Thanks to other help I''ve gotten on this list, I''ve got backgroundrb up and running using postgres alongside my rails app. I''ve designed the system to have several eternally-running workers that periodically poll the database to see if there''s any work for them to do, and set things up in the config file to make them restart quickly if any of them

Voicemail SMS Alert - Possible?
I need to be able to send an sms alert to one's mobile/cell phone. For instance, when I receive a voicemail message in my inbox, I also want to be able to get a message on my cell phone alerting me of this e-mail. How possible is this? And if it is, what do I need to do to get the service up and running? Ideas are most welcome. Thanks, Julius.
