[PATCH] btrfs: fix write_dev_supers
Hi. I got following BUG trace. This is violation of BUG_ON(!buffer_locked(bh)) check on submit_bh() function. In write_dev_supers(), if wait parameter is set and buffer_uptodate() check is negative, submit_bh() is executed and hit above BUG_ON. So I fixed this issue. Thanks. Is it possible for the ext4/btrfs file system to pass some context related info to low level block driver?
Currently, some new storage devices have the ability to do performance optimizations according to the type of data payload - say, file system metadata, time-stamps, sequential write in some granularity, random write and so on. For example, the latest eMMC 4.5 device can support the so-called ''Context Management'' and ''Data Tag Mechanism'' features. By receiving

[SUGGESSTION 1/1] OCFS2: automatic dlm hash table size
backgroud: ocfs2 dlm uses a hash table to store dlm_lock_resource objects. the often used lookup is performed on the hash table. problem: for usages that there are huge number of inodes(thus huge number of dlm_lock_resource objects) in a ocfs2 volume, the lookup performance becomes a problem. the lookup holds spin_lock which could put all others cpus into the state of aquring the spinlock. if

[PATCH] BUG on error handlings in Ext3 under I/O failure condition
Hello. I found bugs on error handlings in the functions arround the ext3 file system, which cause inadequate completions of synchronous write I/O operations when disk I/O failures occur. Both 2.4 and 2.6 have this problem. I carried out following experiment: 1. Mount a ext3 file system on a SCSI disk with ordered mode. 2. Open a file on the file system with O_SYNC|O_RDWR|O_TRUNC|O_CREAT

[PATCH 1/1] OCFS2: fix for nfs getting stale inode.
Ocfs2 supports exporting. PROBLEM: There are 2 problems (1) Current version of ocfs2_get_dentry() may read from disk the inode WITHOUT any cross cluster lock. This may lead to load a stale inode. (2) for deleting an inode, ocfs2_remove_inode() doesn't sync/checkpoint to disk. This also may lead ocfs2_get_dentry() from other node read out stale inode. PROBLEM DETAIL: for problem (1), For
