SEEK_DATA/HOLE on ocfs2 - v2
Two patches follow this message. One fixes the default implementation
of SEEK_HOLE/DATA. This patch applies atop Josef's last posted patch.
The second patch implements the same on ocfs2.
The test tool for the same is available here.

kernel BUG at /usr/src/ocfs2-1.2.1/fs/ocfs2/file.c:494!
Hi,
First of all, I'm new to ocfs2 and drbd.
I set up two identical servers (Athlon64, 1GB RAM, GB-Ethernet) with Debian Etch, compiled my own kernel (2.6.16.20),
then compiled the drbd-modules and ocfs (modules and tools) from source.
The process of getting everything up and running was very easy.
I have one big 140GB partition that is synced with drbd (in c-mode) and has an ocfs2

[PATCH 0/7] OCFS2 locking fixes and lockdep annotations
Hi,
the first four patches in this series fix locking problems in OCFS2 quota code (three of
them can lead to potential deadlocks). The fifth patch reorders ip_alloc_sem for directories
to be acquired before localalloc locks. Mark would you please merge these?
The last two patches implement lockdep annotations for OCFS2 cluster locks. We annotate all
the cluster locks except for special ones

[STABLE, 2.6.27.y] jbd2: Avoid possible NULL dereference in jbd2_journal_begin_ordered_truncate()
From: Jan Kara <jack at suse.cz>
If we race with commit code setting i_transaction to NULL, we could
possibly dereference it. Proper locking requires the journal pointer
(to access journal->j_list_lock), which we don't have. So we have to
change the prototype of the function so that filesystem passes us the
journal pointer. Also add a more detailed comment about why the

[PATCH 0/6] Quota fixes for 2.6.31-rc4
Hi,
I did some more in-depth testing of OCFS2 quota code, especially with ECC
feature enabled and spotted some problems. First four patches fix them.
I need the fifth patch to be able to mount OCFS2 filesystem with 2.6.31-rc3.
The sixth patch fixes a potential problem when quota syncing interval is
updated while the cluster is running (which is not possible currently).
Joel, could you please

[PATCH 0/7] [RESEND] Fix some deadlocks in quota code and implement lockdep for cluster locks
Hi,
I'm resending this patch series. It's rediffed against linux-next branch of
Joel's git tree. The first four patches are obvious fixes of deadlocks in quota
code and should go in as soon as possible. The other three patches implement
lockdep support for OCFS2 cluster locks. So you can have a look whether the
code make sence to you and possibly merge them. They should be NOP when

[PATCH 0/7] OCFS2 quota fixes (version 2)
Hi,
here is the second version of OCFS2 quota fixes with Joel's comments
fixed. Also I've added a patch defining counts of credits for quota
operations as Joel asked.

[PATCH v21 22/30] ocfs2: Provide a splice-read stub
Provide a splice_read stub for ocfs2. This emits trace lines and does an
atime lock/update before calling filemap_splice_read(). Splicing from
direct I/O is handled by the caller.
A couple of new tracepoints are added for this purpose.

Problems with fsck
Hi List,
i'd like to share with you what happened yesterday.
Kernel 2.6.36.1
ocfs2-tools 1.6.3 (latest).
I had an old OCFS2 partition created with a 2.6.32 kernel and ocfs2
tools 1.4.5.
I unmounted all partitions on all nodes in order to enable discontig-bg.
I then used tunefs to add discontig-bg, inline-data and indexed-dirs.
During indexed-dirs tunefs segfaulted and since then, fsck

Possible lock inversion in directory locking
Hi,
I've been playing lately with lockdep annotations of OCFS2. I seem to
have most of the false positives sorted out and currently I hit the report
below.
I've analyzed that ocfs2_extend_dir() does first lock local alloc inode
in ocfs2_reserve_clusters() and then acquires ip_alloc_sem from the
directory. The usual ordering e.g. in ocfs2_write_begin() is to first
acquire ip_alloc_sem

[RFC][PATCH 3/3] Btrfs: improve truncation of btrfs
The original truncation of btrfs has a bug, that is the orphan item will not be
dropped when the truncation fails. This bug will trigger BUG() when unlink that
truncated file. And besides that, if the user does pre-allocation for the file
which is truncated unsuccessfully, after re-mount(umount-mount, not -o remount),
the pre-allocated extent will be dropped.
This patch modified the relative

[BUGFIX][OCFS2 1/1] inode truncating
/an ocfs2 bug:
a truncate races with ocfs2_get_block(...,0).
1) 'dd' is doing a truncate, clearing the page cache and reset inode size./
/2) between clearing page cache and resizing inode, a read comes and
create a /
/new page and insert it to page cache./
/3) the read(from `cat`) set buffer head in the new page as mapped but
doesn't increase / /ip_mmu_private in ocfs2_get_block()

Changes from V1:
We should update i_size only if actual_len and cur_offset are both
larger than i_size. Otherwise if actual_len is < i_size and cur_offset > i_size
we may end up setting wrong i_size value
