Search function in this Forum ??
This forum has been a great resource for me. It would be great if i can
search the forum before posting any question, as i''m sure someone has
already posted that question before. The search function has been
disabled for quite sometime now. I''ve already emailed the administrator
but haven''t got any response.
any idea on when this would be enabled ?
Thanks,
VASU.

(1) arima.mle implementation; (2) r-newbie forum
Has arima.mle (MASS, Ch.15, p.464) been implemented in R?
[A search through contributed packages and R-FAQ suggests not,
and I don't think function 'lme' from package 'nlme' would
accomplish the same sort of thing, although it permits
correlated errors. A search of the CRAN site shows this
question has been asked some time ago, and it was suggested
that Paul Gilbert's

Possibly same issue as ''duplicate search results'' topic?
Unfortunately I''m a newbie to ruby, rails, and acts_as_ferret. Also,
I''m working in code I mostly didn''t write, so I''m kind of unsure of
things. So this may be a dumb question. It also may be the same issue
as the topic ''Duplicate search results'', but I''m not sure.
When I update column values with

Fwd: CentOS forum search link in http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories under Atomic Repo
Maybe I posted this a little late on Friday for anyone to take an interest
in suggesting a properly built search URL for the current forum software,
so I did some experiments which led to the suggestion added below the copy
of the previous post.

acts_as_ferret to search partial phrases and fuzzy
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone had experience of extending AAF plugin for
Rails to implement a broader query ?
The documentation and the demo provided on the
http://projects.jkraemer.net/acts_as_ferret/ wiki seems to only match
full text queries, or partial when using a * wildcard.
Ideally, I am trying to acheive something similar to the following
(pseudo code):

Fwd: CentOS forum search link in http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories under Atomic Repo
I did the last major rewrite of the AdditionalRepos page, in large part
because of issues we see repeatedly on the IRC channels. The repos placed
in the "known problem" section are there for a good reason -- they replace
base packages by default, or they're poorly maintained, leading to security
issues. Or both.
Atomic falls squarely into the former category -- it replaces key parts

Microsoft SQL Server has me stumped
I''m tinkering around with an old legacy table in SQL Server 2000.
Ruby 1.8.4, most recent ADO.rb file from RubyForge, Rails 1.0
Here''s the model:
class InventoryItem < ActiveRecord::Base
set_table_name "[_SMDBA_].[_INVENTOR_]"
set_primary_key "sequence"
end
Everything works fine. I can retrieve records without issue.
However, when create a new

New Web Forum
Interesting. I discussed this off line with a couple of folks and
offered to host a forum. -- But, not to run it. So, this is great that
we know have it and you have stepped up to the plate to run it.
I do have a request / suggestion: I've noticed that many of the boards
for open source software suffer from a couple of problems and it would
be great if the Icecast forum could rise above

Seeking Ruby on Rails Co-worker in Boston. jobs!
Hi,
This is basically a job posting seeking interested developers in the
Boston area to work full time at my company.
If you look at the job description, you''ll see no mention of Ruby on

RFC: Potential idea to consolidate forums and lists
I'm making a request for comments in an effort to bring a minor but
nagging bug to some kind of multilaterally-beneficial conclusion, and
deliberately held off until after the 1.0 release in case this turns out
to be a bigger deal than originally anticipated.

The first proposed suggestion is that a more consistent method for

Sharing primary key between two tables?
Hello,
I have an ActiveRecord question.
I have two tables, "customers" and "users". Those two tables really
should share their primary key, in order to have a "real" 1:1
relationship.
(I don''t mean to start a database-resign religious war, but I must say
that I do feel very uneasy about using ActiveRecord''s "normal" way,
which is to

Suggrstion - remove USELESS Google forum search!
It can't be configured. It returns random-aged results (generally older ones first), it's not keyword highlightable, and takes up unneeded space when just looking for thread titles.
So many other boards use the boards' native search feature, why not this one?
Thanks.

It''s all the same list: Gmane, Mailing List, Ruby Forum, Nabble, ...
Does anyone have any ideas how to stop people from posting multiple
times to this list?
It looks like there is a misunderstanding about the fact that there is
are gateways between the lists, so people are posting a questions to the
mailing list and then posting the identical question at ruby-forum,
nabble, etc.
The excess posts are one thing, but sometimes there are parallel
conversations
