Want feedback on Mongrel patch for handling partial PUT requests
By default, Mongrel will delete the HTTP request body and short circuit calling any handlers if a request is interrupted or incomplete. Unfortunately, this breaks any attempt to correctly handle a partial PUT. (BTW, PUT is *way* more efficient for uploads compared to POST which requires a MIME parsing step.) So, about a month ago I wrote up some patches to Mongrel 0.3.18 that allowed

Streaming content
Hello I''m attempting to write a mongrel plug-in which would stream a response. At first I was doing this def process(request, response) response.start do |head,out| head[''Content-Type''] = ''text/html'' %w{o m g}.each { |c| out.puts c; sleep 5; } end response.done = true end But then I looked at HttpResponse and decided

multiple refreshs clicks cause errors in WEBrick
Hi all I am new to rails, so I hope it is not a trivial question... I am using rails with webrick and MySql4.1 on win XP. I enter a simple action (with a post method) which fetches some data from a ''users'' table and present it in a rhtml view. Now when I press the refresh button quickly a few times I get in the command line window errors such as this: [2005-08-25 17:08:55]

Net::HTTPResponse
Hello :) I have a problem with the Net::HTTP library... The Net::HTTP library [1] uses a Net::HTTPResponse object for all it''s responses from web servers. This class has many subclasses, such as HTTPSuccess, HTTPRedirecttion, etc. When obtaining a response, the library suggests to check what it is by testing the class of the returned object - using case/when or kind_of? (which it does

Net:HTTP.post returns an Array
I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem. I post using a Net::HTTP object and instead of getting Net::HTTPResponse object, the server returns an Array causing an error since an we typically attempt to read the body of the Net::HTTPResponse object. Does anyone know why this is occurring? Thanks --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you

up-to-date debian packages?
The debian (unstable) libtheora and libogg packages are a little out of date. I was wondering if anybody had made their own packages for libogg-1.1.1 and libtheora-1.0alpha4. If not, I'll go ahead and package them up and put them up on my own debian repository or something, and let you guys know where to get them. But if somebody has already done that, let me know. thanks, Tim

Is Ruby stable for production use?
Hi, I realise that Windows is a poor platform and that Webrick is a development, not production, server. However, we have started seeing this crop up when perfectly simple page to page links are invoked... ActionPack raw_post_data_fix.rb#read_body bug with AMF data.
Hey Everyone, I just found a slight problem with the "read_body" method in raw_post_data_fix.rb. This line: # Fix for Safari Ajax postings that always append \000 content.chop! if content[-1] == 0 This causes problems with Flash AMF binary format. As AMF always appends a \000 to the stream as well. I''m the developer over at RubyAMF and have been running into problems with AMF

Socket read returned insufficient data
In the several months I''ve been using Mongrel, I''ve experienced two crashes. Both were immediately following a "Socket read returned insufficient data" error from HTTPRequest. Both times, the mongrel process would hang indefinitely (and not respond to requests) untill manually killed. The first instance references a line where I was using

Interesting "Bad Certificate" Problem
All, I''m having an interesting certificate problem with a host I provisioned today. The host was provisioned and puppet was installed as part of the post-os provisioning process. After I signed the certificate I see the following on the client side: [root@client ~]# puppetd --verbose --no-daemonize notice: Starting Puppet client version 0.25.4 err: Could not retrieve catalog from

Anyone knows how microsoft AEC can deal with mismatches between clocks of capture and render streams?
I am doing this right now with no problem. I am not using speex for this at the moment though. Group delay is the biggest problem. I implemented a version where the input and output sample rates are known up front. The routine than interpolates between the jitter. This should solve the problem. The crystals used to clock the input and output have very fine tolerances on most standard audio

Large file support (up and down) for Mongrel 0.13.3
I''ve just checked in changes to improve handling of massive posts and massive downloads. Generally speaking, Mongrel has been keeping everything in memory. (Unless you''re using DirHandler and have the sendfile gem in place.) Now, downloads should be pretty swift even without the sendfile gem. HttpResponse#send_file rips out the file streaming support from DirHandler and
