Lost path to root directory!
I'll admit I am new to LVM2, but I have got myself in a bad spot. I renamed the LVM volume and volume group so that I can keep track of what is in them. I have changed grub's menu.lst, /etc/fstab, and /etc/mtab, but somewhere else there is still something telling lvm that my root drive is on VolGroup00. Where is it, and how do I convince it that VolGroup00/Volume00 (or whatever the

Centos7 - remove /home and expand / after install?
I did a default install and after installing some other things I realized that a lot of space was allocated to /home as an lvm that is never going to be used. Is it possible to remove the lvm and grow the root (xfs) filesystem without starting over? -- Les Mikesell lesmikesell at gmail.com

MultiMaster dsync (cluster1 cluster2 cluster3)
Will MultiMaster dsync work fine or will be big problems ? I configured dovecot to dsync from serv1 to serv2 to serv3 and repeat to serv1 to serv2 to serv3 and repeat... When email received to serv2, it will be synced to serv3, and serv3 will sync it to serv1, and serv1 will sync it to serv2 and will stop here because emails matched. What problems can be with this kind of configuration ?

rsync of a reflink from OCFS2
Hi, i have some virtual machines running on logical volumes formatted with OCFS2. I'd like to snapshot the running guests to backup them easily afterwards. The files of the guests are big (100 - 300GB), but the content changes only slowly. So i thought that rsync would be a great benefit because it justs transfers the difference between the current file and the one backuped one day before. I

[PATCH] builder: templates: For RHEL, CentOS >= 7 and all Fedora, default to GPT.
I didn't test this one fully yet, but I'm building Fedora 26 ppc64/le test images now. However it seems like it could be a good idea. I wonder if anyone depends on the images we supply being MBR-based? Rich.

domU unbootable after unknown error
I''ve done something apparently, but can''t for the life of me figure out what. Perhaps someone can help: I have an LVM based domU which has been working without problem for weeks. I made some final changes to it last week, shut it down and ran the following to create a backup image: dd if=/dev/VolGroup00/wspd of=mail2.img bs=1M At least this is the only thing I can

FreeBSD 9.0 - GPT boot problems?
Hi, I just installed FreeBSD 9.0-release / amd64 on a new machine (Acer Aspire X1470). I installed from a usb memory stick (the default amd64 image), which I booted by pressing "F12" and selecting it from the boot menu on the machine. I installed on a SSD (which replaced the hard drive originally in the machine), using the default scheme for 9.0 (GPT). The installation was painless (many

using a cross partition WINEPREFIX
I have been told that the way to utilize the somewhat strange way my Ubuntu is set up is to use the WINEPREFIX. I have some windoze programs that need to know about each other so they need to be in the same drive_c Here are pertinent specifics of my system: > > root at kayve-laptop:/media/2c512d2e-fcf5-4ef5-8200-e3c79a8a1aca/home/kayve# mount | grep ext4 > /dev/sda6 on / type ext4

[Bug 2734] --delete doesn't work
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2734 ------- Additional Comments From vanes002@umn.edu 2005-05-21 22:15 ------- Your rsync options (-arRWxn) include -n, so nothing is actually going to get deleted on the destination, even though rsync reports that they are being deleted (which is what -n is for - i.e. to preview what will happen). -- Configure bugmail:

Trying to install ChessBase 8.0 and Hiarcs
I have Ubuntu 11.04 with wine and I am trying to install my ChessBase 8.0 on it using Wine.
