Hello, I want to use ocfs for a 10g RAC installation on a 2 node cluster, consisting of 1 Athlon and 1 Pentium machine with Firewire storage. OS is RHAS 3. Since I need to build my own binary Athlon rpm's, I downloaded ocfs-1.0.12.tar.gz ocfs-tools-1.0.10.tar.gz I was able to install both (./configure ; make - make install). Well, you are the second person who has complained about the performance of OCFS with the PERC controller. Best option would be to contact DELL. We are in contact with them... as in, they inform us of any issues they have with linux/ocfs on their hardware. I have a brand new 2T external Samsung SSD disk. (two of them) for backup. I tried the first one and had an issue, I tried the second one and got the same issue. Am I doing something wrong ? Hello, i have downloaded the kernel 2.4.14 and the correspondig ext3 patch ext3-2.4-0.9.15-2414.gz. After this i extract the archiv at /usr/src, renamed the dir linux to linux-2.4.14 and made a symlink linux-2.4. I changed to the directory linux-2.4 and add the patch as decsribed on the website gunzip < ~/ext3-2.4-0.9.15-2414.gz | patch -p1. There was no error and the patch was successful.
