bug resolve yet for export OCFS2 volume to NFS client ?
I found this from ocfs1.4 document:
g) NFS
OCFS2 volumes can be exported as NFS volumes. This support is limited to
NFS version 3, which translates to Linux kernel version 2.4 or later.
Users must mount the NFS volumes on the clients using the nordirplus
mount option. This disables the READDIRPLUS RPC call to workaround a bug
in NFSD, detailed in the following link:

Slow performance
Hello again,
We have hit some performance problem today in one of our clusters. The
performance suddenly drop from the normal performance (about
30Mbytes/s), read/write, to a few Kbytes/s (about 200Kbytes/s), read
only, for a while, and as sudden as it started, it backs to the normal
read/write performance, cycling randomly. When the "read only" occurs
on one node, the other shows only

vmware vm with 6 cores and 16GB of RAM and kernel 3.2.0-24-generic. On
both server we are using nfs 3 with

Something went wrong this morning and we have a node ( #0 ) reboot.
Something blocked the NFS access from both nodes, one rebooted and the
another we restarted the nfsd and it brought him back.
Looking at node #0 - the one that rebooted - logs everything seems

new ocfs2 release?
Hi ocfs2 developers,
there are some news about the schedule for a new ocfs2 release that solve the
actual bug/limitations? I can see an 1.4.7 release tagged here:
http://oss.oracle.com/git/?p=ocfs2-1.4.git;a=summary
Is there a planned release date?
in my environment (about 5000000 files with 300000 new files/deletion per day) I
see load until 1000 and I/O almost blocked for some hours of the

[PATCH 1/1] OCFS2: anti stale inode for nfs (V5)
changes from v4:
1, let suballoc lock covers the checking of the group.
2, add/correct some log messages.
3, use ocfs2_read_group_descriptor() instead of diry reading the group.

fsck in startup scripts
Thanks for a great file system!
I have a two-node cluster working as a HA NFS server. This system has
worked fine for almost a year, but recently I found that an ocfs2 file
system had been corrupted and needed to be repaired with fsck.ocfs2.
Even though I don't think that any data was lost I found that 4 of my 14
ocfs2 partitions had some errors which were corrected by fsck.ocfs2. I

[Patch] We resolve the throughput drop problemwhe nr eading filesin OCFS2 volume in the patch "ocfs2-truncate-pages-1.patch"a gainstsvn 1226.
We are also thinking about locking for each read/write, but would its =
overhead be too high?
We have another idea that is extending the function of flock, lockf, =
fcntl to distributed.
So any application that need strict data consistent can do a lock =
operation on the whole or part of the file.
For ordinary application, maybe the current logic is enough.
How about it?

[GIT PULL] ocfs2 changes for 2.6.36, part 2.
Linus et al,
Here is the second batch of ocfs2 changes for 2.6.36. We've
ironed out all of the ordering with the extN/jbd2 folks, and they have
stewed for a little as well.
There's nothing large in here. ocfs2 has long supported devices
larger than 2^32 sectors in the code; we now toggle that capability on.
Tao has added readahead to our CoW operations. We also have one more

[GIT PULL] ocfs2 updates for 2.6.31, take 2
Linus, et al,
Here are some more ocfs2 updates for 2.6.31. More bug fixes,
mostly. The one non-fix is lockdep annotation for ocfs2's cluster
locking. Thanks to Jan Kara for that. Please pull.
