Looks like there is a buglet in 'installed.packages', around line 17: for (lib in lib.loc) { dest <- file.path(tempdir(), paste("libloc_", URLencode(lib,=20 TRUE), paste(fields, collapse =3D ","), ".rds", sep =3D "")) if (!noCache && file.exists(dest) && file.info(dest)$mtime >=20

Upgrading from CentOS 5.6 to 6.0
Help! Just ran the installation DVD but there is no option to 'upgrade'. Looked at the RHEL docs, http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/Installati on_Guide/ch-guimode-x86.html#id4594292 referenced off the CentOS Release notes but the CentOS installation doesn't offer the 'upgrade'. I use to be able to upgrade by doing a 'yum update'. That

md raid6 recommended?
I notice that raid6 is recommended in the manual. eg. "...RAID6 is a must." http://manual.lustre.org/manual/LustreManual16_HTML/DynamicHTML-11-1.html which I found a bit surprising given that in Dec ''06 Peter Braam said on this list "Some of our customers experienced data corruption in the RAID6 layer.", and recommending the CFS optimised md raid5 path through the

RAID6 in production?
Is anyone using RAID6 in production? In moving from hardware RAID on my dual 3ware 7500-8 based systems to md, I decided I'd like to go with RAID6 (since md is less tolerant of marginal drives than is 3ware). I did some benchmarking and was getting decent speeds with a 128KiB chunksize. So the next step was failure testing. First, I fired off memtest.sh as found at

The state of btrfs RAID6 as of kernel 3.13-rc1
Hi What is the general state of btrfs RAID6 as of kernel 3.13-rc1 and the latest btrfs tools? More specifically: - Is it able to correct errors during scrubs? - Is it able to transparently handle disk failures without downtime? - Is it possible to convert btrfs RAID10 to RAID6 without recreating the fs? - Is it possible to add/remove drives to a RAID6 array? raid6: rmw writes all the time?
Hi all, we got a new test system here and I just also tested btrfs raid6 on that. Write performance is slightly lower than hw-raid (LSI megasas) and md-raid6, but it probably would be much better than any of these two, if it wouldn''t read all the during the writes. Is this a known issue? This is with linux-3.9.2. Thanks, Bernd -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line

Push relay from nicecast with icecast2?
Greetings, Ok, success. I understand now that what I thought was a relaying server was actually a source client. This was not really clear and caused me a great deal of confusion. My fault.... <must remember to remove head from posterior prior to project commencement> However, I found something interesting that needs to be documented. I was using a password of radi0 with the source

virt-install kickstart local file
Hi Everybody: I am trying to get virt-install to work with a kickstart file that is on the local file system. I tried using the --initrd-inject="/tmp" --extra-args="ks=file:/myks.cfg" but I got this error message: ERROR --extra-args only work if specified with --location. Here is the basic command: virt-install \ --accelerate \ --cdrom

a newbie question
Hello everyone I just found out this great tool. I need to use it to get access to DSBL zones. in their website it says Can I run my own DSBL DNS secondary? DSBL provides direct rsync access to our zones. To retrieve one of the zones, install rsync and run the following command: rsync -t rsync.dsbl.org::dsbl/<file> . where <file> is one of: rbldns-list.dsbl.org
