Disabling NFS
Howdy, With 3.1.3 the option was added to disable the builtin Gluster NFS. Does that mean that the following scenario should work: 1. Disable Gluster NFS "gluster volume set <VOLUME> nfs.disable on" 2. Restart the gluster servers for good measure 3. On one of the gluster servers, mount the volume using the gluster fuse client: mkdir /export/users # In /etc/fstab add

problems with gluster 3.2.4
Hi, we have 4 test machines (gluster01 to gluster04). I've created a replicated volume with the 4 machines. Then on the client machine i've executed: mount -t glusterfs gluster01:/volume01 /mnt/gluster And everything works ok. The main problem occurs in every client machine that I do: umount /mnt/gluster and the mount -t glusterfs gluster01:/volume01 /mnt/gluster The client

Dir ACL through windows and chmod
Thank you, but this did nothing. Users from group 'g02' can access folder '01'. But this folder has ACL set up only for group 'g01' > You could investigate using 'access based share enum = yes' > > and setting the permissions from Windows, see here: > > https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_a_Share_Using_Windows_ACLs > > You will

samba 4 joining samba 3 pdc - group mismatch
Hi all Background: I am not a samba expert, not even close! I have a ancient samba 3 (Server role: ROLE_DOMAIN_PDC) and I intend to migrate all files to a samba 4 (Server role: ROLE_DOMAIN_MEMBER) Users will stay in S3 for now. Samba 4 joined samba 3 with no problems. I rsync'ed all files and its permissions (rsync -a ...). But... I cannot find a way that makes S4 sees S3 users and groups

Crashing (signal received: 11)
I am seeing this crashing happening, I am working on the self healing errors as well, not sure if the two are related. I would appreciate any direction on trying to resolve the issue, I have clients dropping connection daily. Possible split-brain
Hi all, I have 4 glusterd servers running a single glusterfs volume. The volume was created using the gluster command line, with no changes from default. The same machines all mount the volume using the native glusterfs client: [root at localhost ~]# gluster volume create datastore replica 2 transport tcp 192.168.253.1:/glusterfs/primary 192.168.253.3:/glusterfs/secondary

Node Recovery locks I/O in two-node OCFS2 cluster (DRBD 8.3.8 / Ubuntu 10.10)
I am running a two-node web cluster on OCFS2 via DRBD Primary/Primary (v8.3.8) and Pacemaker. Everything seems to be working great, except during testing of hard-boot scenarios. Whenever I hard-boot one of the nodes, the other node is successfully fenced and marked ?Outdated? * <resource minor="0" cs="WFConnection" ro1="Primary" ro2="Unknown"

A problem with gluster 3.3.0 and Sun Grid Engine
Hi, We got a huge problem on our sun grid engine cluster with glusterfs 3.3.0. Could somebody help me? Based on my understanding, if a folder is removed and recreated on other client node, a program that tries to create a new file under the folder fails very often. We partially fixed this problem by "ls" the folder before doing anything in our command, however, Sun Grid Engine

gluster over infiniband....
Hey guys, I am running gluster over infiniband, and I have a couple of questions. We have four servers, each with 1 disk that I am trying to access over infiniband using gluster. The servers look like they start okay, here are the last 10 or so lines of a client log (they are all identical): 2008-10-07 07:18:40 D [spec.y:196:section_sub] parser: child:stripe0->remote1 2008-10-07 07:18:40 D

Gluster NFS and symlink
Hi list, Is there a configuration for gluster to have symlinks working with gluster nfs exports? When I try to create a symlink on a glusterfs nfs mount I get: ln: creating symbolic link `test' to `httpdocs': Unknown error 526 From nfs.log: [2012-02-18 01:27:27.541155] E [client3_1-fops.c:173:client3_1_symlink_cbk] 0-dcm-gluster-backup1-client-0: remote operation failed: Operation not

glusterfs and samba (file-max limit reached)
Recently a gluster I setup got mounted on a server that exports it through samba. It appears to work till a point. Unexpectedly on heavy usage the nodes happen to reach the max file descriptors opened limit really easily. Anybody else has experience on it? Is that kind of usage supported. currently one node seems to have surpassed about 3M open files even if the samba server claims to have

[FEEDBACK] Governance of GlusterFS project
Hello everyone, We are in the process of formalizing the governance model of the GlusterFS project. Historically, the governance of the project has been loosely structured. This is an invitation to all of you to participate in this discussion and provide your feedback and suggestions on how we should evolve a formal model. peer probe fails (107)
Hi gluster: Im getting the cryptic 107 error, (I guess this means gluster can't see a peer)... gluster peer probe vm-2 peer probe: failed: Probe returned with unknown errno 107 When I can effectively ssh and ping a given server. I've seen other threads regarding this, some of them to deal with the "net.ipv4.ip_nonlocal_bind" parameter, and also a bug
