Weird issue with gluster mount
Hey guys, I have a weird issue with my glusterfs mount point. I'm trying to touch it on one machine: root at il-bi-s01:/mnt# touch gfs touch: setting times of `gfs': Invalid argument But on another machine, it works: root at diablo /mnt # touch gfs root at diablo /mnt # On both machines the mount is working fine, I'm just wondering what's up with this? Data loss (corruption with rsync)
Hello, I just rsync'd my 1TB partitions formated with jfs filesystem containing ~720GB data. I saw -3G difference between source and destination which made me suspect possible dataloss. Also I had experienced loss of integrity on my previous copies but I did not find the cause until now. As command line I used following: sh-3.2# rsync --verbose --sparse --append-verify --fuzzy --progress

Subdirectory snapshots
Hi Chris and everyone else, First let me congratulate you for the nice job on btrfs. I've been stress testing it with parallel kernel compiles intermixed with snapshot taking, up to about ~100 load avg on a dual core box and it's doing quite well :-) I noticed that when creating snapshots it seems to always snapshot an entire subvolume, that is if one does: test1:/mnt# btrfsctl -s

Recovery of RAIDZ with broken label(s)
Hi all, I have a 5 drive RAIDZ volume with data that I''d like to recover. The long story runs roughly: 1) The volume was running fine under FreeBSD on motherboard SATA controllers. 2) Two drives were moved to a HP P411 SAS/SATA controller 3) I *think* the HP controllers wrote some volume information to the end of each disk (hence no more ZFS labels 2,3) 4) In its "auto

glusterfs-fuse package update
Folks, I need to update all my gluserfs-fuse clients to the latest version. Can I do this without a reboot? If I stop the module then update the fuse client, would this suffice? Or do I really need a reboot? Thank You -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... link-dest question
The command below was run on FreeBSD 7.2 with rsync-3.0.3. The command works but copies all files, i.e. no hard links created. rsync -vaxH --numeric-ids --delete --exclude=/home/apache/logs \ --link-dest=/mnt/200912/newharbor/home -e ssh newharbor.safeport.com:/home \ 201001/newharbor/home/ The command was run without the continuation breaks that I added for readability. Problem with --link-dest when syncing AIX to Linux
Hello, i'm using rsync 2.6.0 for daily-syncing some remote AIX 5.2 machine to a local linux (RH 7.3) with using the --link-dest option for saving space on incremental backups. Even if there are no changes on the AIX machine, all files are newly transferred on every new sync. My test scenario (actisi=remote aix machine, actisa=local linux machine): =====> Initial rsync [mma@actisa

zpool status showing wrong device name (similar to: ZFS confused about disk controller )
Hi All, over the last couple of weeks, I had to boot from my rpool from various physical machines because some component on my laptop mainboard blew up (you know that burned electronics smell?). I can''t retrospectively document all I did, but I am sure I recreated the boot-archive, ran devfsadm -C and deleted /etc/zfs/zpool.cache several times. Now zpool status is referring to a

resize2fs on LVM on MD raid on Fedora Core 3 - inode table conflicts in fsck
Hi. I'm attempting to setup a box here to be a file-server for all my data. I'm attempting to resize an ext3 partition to demonstrate this capability to myself before fully committing to this system as the primary data storage. I'm having some problems resizing an ext3 filesystem after I've resized the underlying logical volume. Following the ext3 resize, fsck spits out lots

Targeting old glibc
Hi, I wonder what is the right way to target an old glibc? I have a machine which is up to date (glibc 2.32 and clang+lld 10.0.1). So far I've been able to target older glibc by having a C file containing: __asm__(".symver powf,powf at GLIBC_2.2.5"); __asm__(".symver expf,expf at GLIBC_2.2.5"); __asm__(".symver exp2f,exp2f at GLIBC_2.2.5");

Need Help Invalidating Uberblock
I have a ZFS pool that has been corrupted. The pool contains a single device which was actually a file on UFS. The machine was accidentally halted and now the pool is corrupt. The system panics when trying to do anything with the pool. root@:/$ zpool status panic[cpu1]/thread=fffffe8000758c80: assertion failed:
