Full healing will just take ages... for a just single brick to resync ! > gluster v status home volume status home Status of volume: home Gluster process TCP Port RDMA Port Online Pid

Authentication questions with domain
Hi there. I have a FreeBSD server running Samba 3.3, connected to a domain who's PDC is a MacOS 10.6 server running Samba 3.0.28 (ancient I know). Working all fine, except for one thing I find annoying. MacOS server has a concept of username alias. You can have as many aliases as you want, using any of those aliases are the same as using the primary one. It's rather well implemented in

Packet capture to analysis the tinc connection close
Earlier, my tinc topology is this: https://ibb.co/bP1EJa <https://ibb.co/bP1EJa>, let me explain a little bit: client configuration: Name = client AddressFamily = ipv4 ProcessPriority = high PingTimeout = 10 TunnelServer = yes 1. All tinc nodes configured with “IndirectData = yes”, and the lines shown on the picture with arrow means the directional “ConnectTo”, so all the tinc traffic will

Packet capture to analysis the tinc connection close
I don't know why, but for my case, I reduced the tinc topology from a complex one(which provide layered redundancy) to a very simpled one(one connection), and that connection drop disappeared. Later, let me draw the topology and share the config to you to see if there's any findings of the cause. Guus Sliepen <guus at tinc-vpn.org>于2017年9月14日 周四上午3:20写道: > On Wed, Sep 13, 2017

Distributed volume disaster recovery
Hi, I had a question about recovering a 3 node cluster with a distributed volume. If I create a 3 node distributed glusterfs cluster with RAID 6 on each node. What happens in the following case and what are my options. Scenario: The OS disk fails on node 2, which means I loose glusfterfs-server, the OS and associated config data while all the bricks are healthy, can I re-install the server,

How to migrate a huge AD 2003 domain to samba 4 ?
Hello, We are thinking about migrate our AD to samba 4. I found a thread at this list [1] where the steps are: 1. Join samba4 with samba-tool domain join ... 2. ensure that the directory is replicated 3. copy the sysvol share from win2k3 to samba4 4. run samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset on the samba4 box 5.-1000. Test test test 1001. If you are satisfied with how samba4 is working you can launch

Samba - faster failover to other AD servers?
We just had an interesting experience here. One of our AD servers was down for 90 minutes due to the server being physically moved to another location. This shouldn?t be a problem since there are 5 other AD servers in that ?group? that can take over the load. However it seems Samba (when used as a fileserver) for some reason is taking quite a long time to ?give up? on the first one and switch to

Disaster recovery on PDC
Hi all, I search about disaster recovery, but I can't understand how to proceed... I perform backups on my PDC (data and configuration). My question is about secrets.tdb: according some docs, I can't install a new server and just put the secrets.tdb on samba configuration directory, because the SID it's specific. If I don't repair this file, the domain SID will be change and the

VMWare disaster recovery?
I found this in the large and growing list of downloadable vmware appliances: http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/316. I haven't run it yet, but it claims to provide a way to mirror running windows boxes over iscsi to vmware disk images, then allows you to boot that image under vmware as a replacement for the server with little downtime. Has anyone attempted something like this

Sysrescue cd. If the drives are still viable and you have a spare beater system handy the data rescue should be straight forward. Done it several times. HIH.
