Correct usage of NFS mounted Maildirs
Dovecot 1.0RC15 running on Fedora Core 5 kernel 2.6.18-1.2257.fc5smp. A SLES10 server (kernel 2.6.16.21-0.8-smp) has the home directories on an ext3 partition mounted with options (rw,acl,user_xattr,usrquota) which is then exposed as an NFS mount with server side options (rw,no_root_squash,no_acl,async). The home directories include Maildirs to which postfix delivers. The Fedora Core 5

cannot access /mnt/glusterfs: Stale NFS file handle
I've mounted my glusterfs share as I always do: mount -t glusterfs `hostname`:/bhl-volume /mnt/glusterfs and I can see it in df: # df -h | tail -n1 clustr-01:/bhl-volume 90T 51T 39T 57% /mnt/glusterfs but I can't change into it, or access any of the files in it: # ls -al /mnt/glusterfs ls: cannot access /mnt/glusterfs: Stale NFS file handle Any idea what could be causing

Laptop and NFS homedir
In my professional environment, user's laptop have small (but fast ;-)) storage and a local home directory (centOS7). They use sshfs to reach a central storage for most of their needs. This central storage is secured (ceph replication + daily backup). It works also from home but, of course, with lower performances behind an ADSL box. No problem with closing connections. .spl files
I am not certain that this is the right place to post this, but maybe some kind soul can point me in the right direction if not. And I apologize if this is the wrong spot...The reason I posted here is that I recall running across a syslinux changlog that said "..added support for reading .spl..." files. I want to customize the suse boot up splash screens (for a CD install). I have been

How do I diagnose what's going wrong with a Gluster NFS mount?
Hi, Has anyone even seen this before - an NFS mount through Gluster that gets the filesystem size wrong and is otherwise garbled and dangerous? Is there a way within Gluster to fix it, or is the lesson that Gluster's NFS sometimes can't be relied on? What have the experiences been running an external NFS daemon with Gluster? Is that fairly straightforward? Might like to get the

7.2 kernel panic on boot
I wanted to help you by making sure that you were on the most recent version, but, looking at the Centos.org website I was unable to figure out if 7.2 was the tip. 7.1503? Is that 7.2? Beats me. https://wiki.centos.org/Download appears to say that 1503 is the current version. I *thought* this wacky CentOS version number would be more like 7.1.1503? Did I miss something? Is there no easy mapping

Remounting after changing mount options.
Unfortunately, this is another "I don''t yet know ruby" question, but I''m hoping that someone can help me out. I''ve just tried to write some mount options via puppet and I noticed that, while fstab is written, the managed mounts are not remounted to effect the stated changes. For instance: Original - /home, options: rw Puppet - /home, options: rw,acl

NFS mount auto remount in case of problems.
Hi All. I have a setup in which I have two servers serving nfs share. The nfs service is made highly available with pacemaker. When the primary server goes down the secondary starts nfs service. Service IP is floating between servers but they have NO "shared" storage/filesystem so NFS state/connection information in case of failover is lost. I have two clients. When the failover from

filesystem remounted as read only
Hi, I'm running kernel 2.6.8-15, lvm2 v2.01.04-5 and acl v2.2.23-1 on a Sunblade 100 (sparc). In a few months we have experienced for several times that an ext3 filesystem is remounted as read-only (this is due to the option "errors=remount-ro" in /etc/fstab). Sometimes there is no error in log files but sometimes we see: kernel: init_special_inode: bogus i_mode (3016) kernel:
