Here's another easy rsync question (I am trying to make sense of some stuff): Let's say I have this burp file, which I set the follow uid/gid: raub@kushana-13>ls -l burp -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody4 noaccess 44800 Feb 18 13:07 burp raub@kushana-14> When I move it to katri, since it does not have those uid/gid defined, it just spits them out as the appropriate numbers (that were

OpenVZ with asterisk 13
Dear Mitul, I already told my boss about it, I really want a single box, no virtual, but my boss insist. He said that openvz use less resource then KVM (or other virtual for cloud). I really need a solid analysis to argue with him. On the other hand, dahdi cannot be installed in openvz virtual server. I dont have any experience with openvz at all. Decent Performance
Hi all, I am trying to get some decent speed out of a vanilla Debian (Proxmox) box and am running out of ideas. Basically I can exchange data at 110MB/sec (raw, nfs, ftp) but not with Samba shares. I tried almost every samba tuning tip I could find to no avail. The only optimisation left to smb.conf at the moment is debug level = 0. As one can see the robocopy throughput is merely half of what

RSync on Windows 2003
Hello, I'm desperately trying to have a RSync server work on a Windows 2003 Standard Server. All the documentation available I have found applies to Windows NT/2000/XP I don't know whether 2003 works differently from the previous Windows. I have installed the cwrsync package. The RSyncServer Service is running fine under a user account named cwrsync. A successful Telnet on the port 873
