crash when using the cp command to copy files off a striped gluster dir but not when using rsync
Hi, I've got this strange problem where a striped endpoint will crash when I try to use cp to copy files off of it but not when I use rsync to copy files off: [user at gluster5 user]$ cp -r Python-2.6.4/ ~/tmp/ cp: reading `Python-2.6.4/Lib/lib2to3/tests/data/fixers/myfixes/__init__.py': Software caused connection abort cp: closing

[3.0.2] booster + unfsd failed
Hi list. I have been testing with glusterfs-3.0.2. glusterfs mount works well. unfsd on glusterfs mount point works well too. When using booster, unfsd realpath check failed. But ls util works well. I tried 3.0.0-git head source build but result was same. My System is Ubuntu 9.10 and using unfsd source from official gluster download site. Any comment appreciated!! - kpkim root at

question about gluster 3.0.4 and gluster-fuse (latest) on 2 centos 5.4 servers
Hello, I am running 2 servers with CentoS 5.4 32 bit with 1 GB memory and 2 Xeon 3,4 Ghz cpu's. Both are server and client. Gluster 3.0.4 source is used and the latest fuse from glusterfs. I put the Qmail maildir on the gluster mount. I notices that IMAP connections are really slow and see a lot of gluster load whenever I receive a mail or send an email. This is my glusterfsd.vol on both

Glusterfs 2.0 hangs on high load
Hello! After upgrade to version 2.0, now using 2.0.1, I'm experiencing problems with glusterfs stability. I'm running 2 node setup with cliet side afr, and glusterfsd also is running on same servers. Time to time glusterfs just hangs, i can reproduce this running iozone benchmarking tool. I'm using patched Fuse, but same result is with unpatched.

Permission Problems
Hello List, first of all my configuration: I have 2 GlusterPlatform 3.0.3 Servers virtualized on VMWare Esxi 4. With one Volume exported as "raid 1". I mounted the share with the GlusterClient 3.0.2 with the following /etc/fstab line: /etc/glusterfs/client.vol /mnt/images glusterfs defaults 0 0 The client.vol looks like this: # auto generated by

Disk Layout for New Storage Server
We are implementing a ZFS storage server (NAS) to replace a NetApp box. I have a Sun server with two dual Ultra320 PCIX cards connected to 4 shelves of 12 500GB disks each, yielding a total of 24TB of raw storage. I''m kicking around the different ways to carve this space up, balancing storage space with data integrity. The layout that I have come to think is the best for me is to

Strange server locks isuess with 2.0.7 - updating
Hi Marek, Is it possible for you to provide a backtrace of the crash? And can you file a bug report at bugs.gluster.com? Also if possible can you upgrade to 2.8 release and confirm whether you face the same problem? regards, ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marek" <mb at kis.p.lodz.pl> To: gluster-users at gluster.org Sent: Thursday, November 19, 2009 7:20:44 PM GMT +04:00 Abu

Warning: bad fsid on block 20971520
Hi, the $subj warning appears sometimes in syslog, in my case when xfstests/209 runs looped. The minimal reproducer is looped mkfs+mount. The message comes from disk-io.c btree_readpage_end_io_hook(): 581 if (check_tree_block_fsid(root, eb)) { 582 printk_ratelimited(KERN_INFO "btrfs bad fsid on block %llu\n", 583 (unsigned long

[LLVMdev] Simple question on C program test coverage / dependence analysis
Hi all. I am new to LLVM, and wondering are there any off-the-shelf tools for C programs for measuring testing coverage and simple dependence analysis (within the LLVM framework). Specifically, I would like to: (1) measure which line is covered when executing a C program with specific input values. It likes a testing coverage tool, but I hope to get the line number. are there

T1 Hardware Echo Can
Hello, After reading the lists and taking reccomendations from TC, I have finally given up on the echo can built into asterisk. I am sick of hearing complaints from users, so the money spent on a hardware echo can will be worth its weight in gold. I am curious however, about some setup and component requirements. It seems as if every telecom place I call, either never calls back or doesn't

Tellabs Echo Canceller
I am getting ready to experiment with the Tellabs 2752 echo canceller. I have a 255D shelf (and power supply), but am struggling a little on connecting the echo canceller to a PRI. The shelf has 4 25-pair amphenol connectors. The two on the line side are marked "Receive In" and "Send Out". The 2 connectors on the drop side are marked "Send In" and "Receive

Allocating shelf space
Hi Folks, This is not an R question as such, though it may well have an R answer. (And, in any case, this community probably knows more about most things than most others ... indeed, has probably pondered this very question). I: Given a "catalogue" of hundreds of books, where each "entry" has author and title (or equivalent ID), and also Ia) The dimensions (thickness,

two tellabs 2572 echo board in a 253c mounting assembly?
Anyone gotten two of the 2572 echo canceller cards to work in a 253c mounting assembly? I can get one to work, but when I install two, one always fails. I've tried all my cards solo in the enclosure, on each side, and they all work properly when only 1 is installed, however, when I install two, one of them will come up, but the other always fails. Anyone know what might be causing this?

ZFS layout on hardware RAID-5?
Greetings, I followed closely the thread "ZFS and Storage", and other discussions about using ZFS on hardware RAID arrays, since we are deploying ZFS in a similar situation here. I''m sure I''m oversimplifying, but the consensus for general filesystem-type storage needs, as I''ve read it, tends toward doing ZFS RAID-Z (or RAID-Z2) on LUNS consisting of hardware

Headless Linux system for Asterisk
Because of space limitations and because of the location of the punch-down blocks, my * server is located on the shelf in a coat closet. Sadly, there is not enough space (or ventilation) for the monitor and keyboard. This will all change when we move to new quarters, but... Does anyone have experience running Linux/Asterisk without a monitor? What, if any, are the issues? TIA
