Proposed patches for inclusion in Samba 3.0.25a
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Folks, I've cobbled together the svn commits for SAMBA_3_0_25 that address a few very visible bugs in 3.0.25: * The object picker error for "security = domain" * Supplementary group membership bug with "force group" * Premature password expiration on Samba DCs You can grab the patch file from

Connection problem with 3.0.25a
Hello all, I've tried everything I can think of, I've gone through Google and the Samba website and I can't come up with a fix for this problem. I've been running Samba 3 for at least the past year with no problems. I run a small FreeBSD 6.2 box that I use as a storage area for the windows XP systems on my network. Things have been fine up until 3.0.25 and 3.0.25a. Now,

dfs problems in 3.0.25a after client reboot and remapping
Hi guys, I haven't seen any replies to this, but im seeing the exact same thing with Fedora 7 samba (with all the currently available patches). using winbind into a an ADS realm. My samba is 3.0.25b. Clients are XP, 2003 r2 SE and EE 32bit, 2003 r2 SE 64 bit. All work ok for a while, then suddenly start doing the same as below. I.e., when mapped it looks fine, then some time in the future

dfs problems in 3.0.25a after client reboot and remapping
We restored to 3.0.23d after update to 3.0.25a because of strange dfs behavior. the detailed situation: on msdfs root server 'samba' ls -lR dfsroot/: drwxr-xr-x appl1 dfsroot/appl1 lrwxrwxrwx share1 -> msdfs:server1\share1 [dfs] comment = "SaMBa DFS root" path = /path.../dfsroot # next line does not work prior 3.0.25 !!! # hide unreadable = Yes

2x2 test: total confusion.
I wan't a test for the 'association' between two events, lets say the color of balls picked and the pickers (this is quite a good analogy to my data). I have 200 different pickers P I have 1,000 colors of balls C I have 1,000,000 picks in total I am totally confused about what test to apply and when and why. This is what I *think* I know how many balls each picker

Connection problem with 3.0.25a [solved]
I found a solution for this, but I don't understand why this made a difference. First, here's output from testparm: ---------------------------------------------------- testparm Load smb config files from /usr/local/etc/smb.conf Processing section "[backup2$]" Processing section "[backup$]" Loaded services file OK. Newbie: using date-picker
Finally found a nice date chooser script (http://projects.exactlyoneturtle.com/date_picker), but am a little confused how to implement it. So I put this where I need the date picker: <a id="_name_link" href="#" onclick="DatePicker.toggleDatePicker(''name'')" class="demo_link">[ choose date ]</a> <div

rails color picker?
Hello, Is there a color picker somewhere that is integrated with rails? Specifically a I''m hoping for a full 24-bit picker with sliders, etc, that can interact with rails objects, such as updating a form that rails has setup, or just injecting it''s chosen value into an input value that rails has set up to put back into an object after submission. Thanks, Avram

Windows XP client apps crash/hang when starting file-picker
Hello. I have a small and simple local network with a Samba server (v.3.6.6 on Debian Wheezy) and Windows clients, a mix of Windows 2000 and XP (32-bit) and 7 (64-bit). In recent times, possibly since I upgraded the server OS version, but most likely before, the Windows XP clients (but not 2000 or 7) have all experienced problems where if any application tries to open a file-picker (for

[LLVMdev] GVN PRE algorithms in LLVM
Hello everyone I am Rakshit Singla, a third year undergrad at IIT Hyderabad, India. I finished a basic compilers course last semester and am currently doing a compiler optimizations course. I have been exploring LLVM for the past few months (wrote a front-end for the Classroom Object Oriented Language and have been studying pieces of code.) I would like to work with LLVM and contribute to the

firefox is incredibly unstable
does anyone else have major probs with Firefox as installed on CentOS5? ever since the RPM for FF3 came out it has been crashing daily. Usually when I use Save As... or Browse... or anything else that brings up the Gnome file picker. After the crash I re-start then the file picker works for a while. Sometimes it just takes scrolling or click+drag an image or some other random action. BANG

getting started with jQuery rails 3.2
Hi all, I''m trying to work out how to get started using some jQuery in my rails app. rails -v = 3.2.2 ruby -v = 1.9.3-p194 I''m only sporadically a web-developer, and still quite inexperienced with jQuery especially, so I may be making an obvious mistake. Essentially, I''ve done very little after creating a new app, I''ve learnt that jQuery is included by

What changed in Directed PickUp between 1.6.1 and 1.6.2 ?
Hi, I'm banging my head over this. Usually, I'm using a SIP hardphone feature called "Call Pickup Starcode" to enhance BLF with Directed Call Pickup : basically, SIP hardphone (here a Thomson ST2030S) is configured to send an INVITE message whenever a BLF is pressed while blinking. The INVITE is build with the extension number (attached to the BLF that was blinking and pressed)

I have some knowledge of parsers, code generation, optimization, IR and other topics taught in an undergrad course. I have worked through quite a bit of the dragon book. Is there a guide to get newbie devs up to speed on the process of contributing? Do I just build the

had 3 kernel panics since upgrade from 3.0.21a to 3.0.25 and 3.0.25a on CentOS 4.4
Does anybody have any ideas on this? On our server that has been running 'rock-solid' with no crashes we have now had 3 kernel panics that each appear to have been triggered by the newly upgraded samba daemon. We used to run samba 3.0.21a for 'years' with no crashes. On May 26 we upgraded to 3.0.25 June 9 10:58:28 first crash kernel panic process involved according to log

[LLVMdev] GVN PRE algorithms in LLVM
The GVN algorithm used in LLVM currently (I'm rewriting it) is the basic hash based RPO algorithm. The new one i'm writing is based on http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=512536 (see https://github.com/dberlin/llvm-gvn-rewrite) LLVM has different algorithms for both scalar PRE and load PRE. They are basically variants of standard PRE algorithms transformed into SSA, but with some
